MOVE STREET CRICKET

Sony seems to be knowing it’s demographic well this time around. With a large chunk of Indian gamers in the region, Sony is targeting that ‘niche’ market with two of the things Indians loves the most – Bollywood and Cricket. It is prominently showcasing Ra.One: The Game at its GAMES11 booth, and then stashed away among the Playstation Move titles is Street Cricket, which promises to be a perfect fit for the technology at hand.

But alas, that’s just promises for now. With the movement detection lagging behind by almost a few seconds, Street Cricket for the PS Move is like facing Shoaib Akhtar on a 10 feet concrete pitch. With a tennis ball. Utterly unplayable. In fact, I am honestly not sure if it’s meant to be that way, do we have to time our shot in advance? The behind-the-batsman angle is just not perspective enough to judge and time the shot properly, let alone select which shot must be played.

There are a couple of modes such as Terminator, Time Buster, etc. Our video demo below has us in an indoor stadium, with ‘run boards’ placed strategically around the players. The boards are marked by the runs it adds to your score; the nearest adds 2 runs, while the long off and long on positions, for example, adds 4 runs.

Street Cricket for PS Move has potentially. It’s got great tech behind it, only if the viewing angle and movement detection is improved upon. We will keep an eye out for this one when it releases, and we hope it to be a better version than this.

There is too much lag. FFS Trine should be ashamed of themselves for dishing out turd after turd. All they had to do was include a proper 1:1 move tracking, and they f**ked it up as well. Hopefully the game is in alpha and they can fix this. But I dont think so they are capable enough to fix it.

WTF man. They already created Street Cricket for PS2, all they had to do was upscale/port it to PS3 and add Move support. I know its not a simple task, but its way more easier than creating a full fledged game. And their main USP is Move, and they f**ked that up? Imagine a casual PS3 buyer buying this game and Move just for cricket. With that kind of lag he will think this is sh*t, PS3 and Move will come crashing down in India, contrary to what Mr Bose and his team thought.

To advertise and promote the product, make sure that the advertise is showcasing the product correctly. Else it will FAIL.

I cant believe a game created to promote PS3 and Move has crappy Move controls and archaic graphics. Bravo Mr Bose and Trine, Bravo. EPIC FAIL indeed.

Why does Sony keep publishing those shitty games? It obviously doesn't help in improving Indian gaming industry's (non-existent) image.

Tell that to Mr.Bose,

We apparently aren't that important, they need to please the casual crowds.

As only they can save the Indian gaming scene

But the casual gamers won't care if the casual games are THIS bad.

Trine Devs, if you are reading this, you are a disgrace to gaming as a whole. Stop creating such crap, and move on to mobile games as you said earlier. You are incapable of doing any good game development, and in trying to develop such things which you call games, you are maligning the country.

They think that because they are casual gamers and they're new to gaming, they won't be able to tell that this game sucks. Seriously. That is what they think. When I tell them the Indian games suck, the ready reply is "but these games are not meant for you"

What the.....they can't get any dumber.

Are they seriously banking that much on a market that prefers a costly mobile more than a console?

Then who are they meant for? Most of the casual gamers don't even have consoles to begin with, and those who have don't purchase too many games, and hence would be extremely careful in purchasing a game like this. They should get their basics right, and stop giving such lame excuses.

Sam please pass this info to Mr.Bose that their strategy is an epic phail if they let newbies start their gaming with games made like this.

But everything has to start with something, isn't it??

Look at guys from Poland, Croatia etc. They were EPIC with their first games. I dont remember who was from where and made which game, but few first games from guys out of nowhere or small countries are: Serious Sam, Painkiller, Witcher, Far Cry, Hard Reset, STALKER, Cryostasis, Metro 2033 etc. Compare these games with utter crap made by TuRdINES. Some of these games had bugs, but they had fantastic graphics and compelling gameplay.

We Indians are only good at copying others, too bad making games requires real talent even if you want to make a copied game.

Whatever happened to those SmashNSurvive guys? That game was looking somewhat promising, it was supposed to release in July IIRC.
