silentassassin
If u pay peanuts u only get monkeys.. the money Sony spends on games developed here is very less and the devs have very less freedom.. So u cant expect something great from them
CM Sunny
they even screwed the Ra One game.Seeing at the gameplay it looked bad Why Trine Why Trine Sam please pass this info to Mr.Bose that their strategy is an epic phail if they let newbies start their gaming with games made like this. Really Bad from Trine. You actually expected it to be good

The main reason is that they are incapable.
dullu
This is very true. They've told me the very same thing coupled with, "don't look at it from the point of view of a gamer, look at it from someone who wants to play their first game". So that it becomes their last game.... honestly speaking, the kind of discipline and dedication game programming requires, our desi coders are rarely cut for it. Those who are simply go abroad and join places where they are appreciated. Do not expect ppl brought up on copied/mugged lab programs to write good AI engines. .Net forms and java apps are as far as we can go. Also about the $$$ part....yes, indian divisions of these companies are merciless. I know of a couple of ppl who were offered a freelance contract by EA India for 3Lakhs per annum (TCS pays more to college freshers)...... they promptly rejected it, knowing that the workload is just not worth it. I myself know another developer who quit EA India a few years back, despite the fact that Cevat Yerli's team was teaching them to work on CryEngine. When they could not cope up, they were redirected to old java mobile games.

Sherry Jose
You also will have to blame the earlier generation, which has created an image that if kids play games, their future is to be spoiled. This in turn has affected the gaming growth in India and foreign companies think that India is not a serious hub for gaming and they feel that its a useless thing to spend cash for games developed in India. Whatever you do, people in India use torrents to download and play their choice of games and again Indians are really casual gamers and PC gaming is what they do. It is easy for the youngsters to get a desktop for studies and play some casual games in that be be hugely satisfied about it If things have to change, even people mindset and people have to change in India for the better ... achilles
Exactly what a lot of us thought a few years back when they started this little project of theirs with Hanuman. While the sales numbers have been positive (else they'd have slayed the program a long time ago) it is sad to see that the quality is pretty much the same. What I find interesting is that they haven't had the gumption to show Ra.One or Street Cricket Move in India at all. What sales? The numbers are almost entirely bundles
theneurotoxin
what really bugs me here... surely this can't be the best that can come out of a country of a billion people right? It isn't. The best people are off someplace to work on Mass Effect, Halo, Left4Dead, Portal etc.

brokenswiftie
Look at guys from Poland, Croatia etc. They were EPIC with their first games. I dont remember who was from where and made which game, but few first games from guys out of nowhere or small countries are: Serious Sam, Painkiller, Witcher, Far Cry, Hard Reset, STALKER, Cryostasis, Metro 2033 etc. Compare these games with utter crap made by TuRdINES. Some of these games had bugs, but they had fantastic graphics and compelling gameplay. We Indians are only good at copying others, too bad making games requires real talent even if you want to make a copied game. Whatever happened to those SmashNSurvive guys? That game was looking somewhat promising, it was supposed to release in July IIRC. smash n survive is releasing on 22nd feb for 12.99 euros around 850 rs ....
