Obviously they won't go into the details of the story, it would be spoilertastic. And yes they'll say it'll make people cry, heck they'd say the game would wash your dishes, dry your clothes and help you get chicks if it meant selling more copies. No offense man, but you're sounding like Cliffy's arsehole. I'm not hyped about the game or something....its just the wait thats killing me. Wouldnt you be exited if FFXIII released this November? The reason why I'm really exited about the game is not because of its single player but the multiplayer. And what the does the whole thing have to do with who Josh Ortega is? No fanboyism or i unapprove it I have a 360 and theres no way Im not buying this game. I love the multiplayer of Gears 1 and I cant wait to try out the MP of Gears 2. Dont you think they hired a writer so that they could have a better plot in the sequel because one of the negative points about the original game was the lack of a good story? Apart from all that, there have been news about a main character dying in the game which hints that the plot is much better now. Not only that but Epic have said that the story is not just Marcus's but Dom's too. Its not only focused on the fight with the Locusts but also revolves around Dom's quest to find his wife. When former comics writer Joshua Ortega was brought on to work on the story for “Gears of War 2,” the guys at Epic had to reel him in a bit. While he was brought on to flesh out the world, Ortega would constantly question the feasibility of the game’s weapons and gameplay conventions. For instance, when he asked why the world had so many ammo drops, Epic told him it’s simply a “game-ism.” “[Epic told me] ‘Dude, it makes the game fun,’” laughed Ortega during an interview at PAX. Ortega did get a chance to break the fourth wall, though. During the tutorial for “Gears of War 2,” he penned a line about his original question. “That was a real basic acknowledgment of it,” he said. “Dom’s like, ‘Damn, someone needs to do an ammo sweep around here.’ I love acknowledging that.” Can you think of another time when a game has made fun of itself? I believe even the MGS series has such easter eggs. However, this is not exactly breaking the fourth wall - it's more of an insider joke.
