Babyzelda
Mate thanks yes will apply for the citizenship once 7 years are over good part is she's been a taxpayer from her first month itself in India And yes I do ignore and politely say a no for any such questions but trying to get someone to ensure we have a smooth passage web we travel I mean at the end of the day the immigration officer here has no rights to waste an hour at the airport cause ultimately even if she was to land up somewhere where she needed a visa she will be sent to her home country not saying that's the right attitude but its just annoying when you are just waiting for an hour while these untrained guys keep trying to figure out if she can or not go to x country from India. Or maybe a better training could help. Maybe I am ranting a lot but trust me get in my place and its beyond frustration. why dont you apply for indian citizenship for here ? a non indian citizen married to an indian citizen can apply once he/she has lived as an ordinary resident (legal immigremt, paying taxes and stuff) for 7 yrs
megzworld
You did it, that itself is a great amount of success, and even if one more noticed, thats twice the amount of success, Sorry didn't notice it earlier, will do my part on it too, (There you go 3X success already ) Coming back to causes, here's some of what we / my family does , 1.Feeds his entire Village every month, It's amazing to see the joy on those people cause most do not even have complete clothes, 2.We have a dedicated School section where not a penny is taken from certain students and these are chosen in absolute fair terms giving each one an equal opportunity. 3.We run one of the most respected foundations here, it's basically a place where any woman, Widow, or someone who has gone through any sort of abuse can come live, and the conditions are pretty awesome, best is to ensure their mind and body is occupied we have setup a store where some of the best Guju snacks are sold and the entire organization is managed by them. It's pretty awesome again to see Joy on those who assumed they lost all. Disclaimer : All of the above are done on our / my family's own funds, we do NOT accept donations, nor do we seek any funds from any source. Lastly, Sorry if this is off topic but here's a bit of a MINOR cause, and my voice for it, My wife is not of Indian Origin, She does not have an Indian Passport but legally lives here since we got Married, and pays a pretty good amount of tax in this country, now here's the issue, every time we travel we end up facing delays at immigration, sometimes they ask a lot of questions once it was humiliating when one guy asked why do I need to marry a Firang when we have so many Indians? Tempers go high but there is little one wants to do when you are just about to fly out, all I did was answer back saying that question is not relevant to your department, We always end up spending an hour or two at the Airport esp. when traveling to countries where she does NOT need a visa, I guess they are not trained enough to know much but then why all the haggle? Worst is most of those officers have no idea if she needs a Visa, if she does not then they go ask their superiors if she can go to a 3rd country from here, and so on and on, this time at arrivals they needed us to show a Marriage Certificate, gladly I obliged them as I always do carry a copy. But since last few days am emailing all the relevant departments in India, doing all I can to get in touch with whoever responsible to give me in writing to allow a smoother entry and exit from and to India. No one bothers reply, but gonna run till I get an answer, I believe all of us are so much into the larger issues that some of the minor issues in this country itself are so messed. These are the websites and their contacts I have got in touch with, 1. http://www.boi.gov.in 2. http://tourism.gov.in/Default.aspx 3. http://indiancitizenshiponline.nic.in 4. http://www.rtionline.gov.in Lets hope someone gets this sorted. My wife is always nervous, sometimes ends up crying at a few questions, this time clearly one guy assumed she is into the wrong side of the world and asked a little too many unwanted questions. I understand they need to do their job, but sometimes they cross lines and have to set this straight. Hey Zelda, Thanks a lot buddy for your kind words. And big thanks if you found that cause worth supporting. I am also really touched by all the good work your family is doing, but I am sure they must be getting a lot of peace in return. It's wonderful if we just try some act of kindness, it may be small or random but it does have a part to play in the whole scheme of things. So do pass my regards and congrats to your family for doing something for the society. As for your wife's citizenship issue.. I can only say that I know what you feel. After marriage to get a residence permit to join my husband in the country he works, I had to go through some very stressful time myself. Worse because of the slow, stupid bureaucratic requirement. Like, Marriage certificate to be attested by 3 different departments in 2 different countries!! I hope you get a solution soon. For me, I am still in between getting my work visa for the last 3 months..
megzworld
As the month of Ramadan approaches here in Muscat, A charitable association has set up collection boxes throughout the Muscat region so that residents can donate used clothing for the poor. Isn't that a great idea? Time to clean my wardrobe!
