HarishProGamer
Indeed, The most awaited Game of this Generation. Dammit! This is GTA, This is R* at its best, Entire R* department worked on it, The Swansong of the Last Gen Consoles.. what else can you add. And judging by Red Dead Redemption (I still consider this as R*'s Best Yet), GTA V will break all records.. Just 1 Request R* --> Make the narration/Story as good as RDR or better than that, I know its too much to ask but you nail in every other department. piper
Doubt the story will be as good as something like RDR primarily because of the satirical nature of content found in dem GTA games. I liked the story in Vice City, though.
hector20
Okay guys enough of all the speculation & PC stuff. I think its time for " What is the first thing you do, after you get the Game" ! 1.) First i'll go to Grovestreet. 2.) Won't engage in any missions, Will cruise through entire game explore country side , since there won't be any locked bridges with Terrorist attack or Bad weather ! Looks like you havn't played MP3 (one of the worst game of this gen) and GTA 4 (most overrated game of this gen...) I don't care about story but if gameplay is boring and dull like GTA 4 then i will never buy any GTA game again.... I liked the story in Vice City, though. Same here..Vice City was my fav...GTA game ..It was so good...Solid in both story and gameplay.... Edited August 28, 2013 by Zodak™

WhiteWolf
Cool story bro. And you love SR, right? Iam not a fan of SR1 and 2 that much ..I only like 3 and 4.. SR gameplay is much better and more fun than GTA now, especially GTA4...GTA 4 was way too serious and boring for me.... Sleeping Dogs is also much better than GTA 4 in gameplay..... I am glad there won't be any restriction. Things I ll do first: 1) Steal a Car (GTA?? LOL) Then will beat the sh*t out of the driver. 2) Explore the city and countryside, killing as many people as I can on the way. 3) Get a gun and start killing cops. After that I will start playing Story missions.
dylanjosh
Have they confirmed no restrictions? I kind of liked the restrictions. :/ It allowed me to be familiar with one part of the city. And then when the other part opened, it was a feeling of OMG SO MUCH NEW STUFF YAY

And then when the other part opened, it was a feeling of OMG SO MUCH NEW STUFF YAY Yes, they have confirmed. But don't worry, you can ignore other parts of the city because this - All three characters won't be playable from start Speaking to French website jeuxactu.com (translated via Google), Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies explained that offering players control over all three characters immediately would have "hurt the gameplay and story", while introducing the characters over a period of time will let players "explore the world of each of them". "Much of the game relies on the three characters and the way in which the lifestyle and actions of one affect the other two," said Benzies. "We think of the three characters from the start but we thought that it would hurt the gameplay and the story. We want to give the player the opportunity to know the three characters individually and explore the world of each of them, and it would not have been possible if the three had been available from the start." source Edited August 28, 2013 by meaNmachine

hector20
guys one more Question . Its the same RAGE engine right ? But there obviously is tons of improvements , What i liked most from GTA IV is the Physics engine with the Euphoria sims & good Car deformations. So what kinda improvements can we expect in GTA V ? i always wanted Bike crashes to look more cool.
WhiteWolf
OK And dude SR is completely different from GTA now..Don't know why you keep comparing both games again and again.....SR4 has super powers..It's completely different from GTA now lol...Volition makes different style of open world games now, completely different from other open world games like GTA and Sleeping Dogs Volition is a small studio they can't make massive games like GTA V that's why the have decided to go in completely different direction with SR 3 and 4...They focus on gameplay and fun stuff more than story Edited August 28, 2013 by Zodak™

IshmaelIsBack
Here's the thing: PC has been doing exceptionally well for the last couple of years. Steam sales, better pricing etc. It's also a LOT more convenient that console gaming of late. Sure piracy is an issue but it's also an issue on the Xbox 360. Thanks to the lack of royalties and flexible pricing allows for better deals and it shows. Why is R* neglecting PC? Well, I don't think they are. Max Payne 3 was pretty kick-a*s. I'm guessing it has more to do with one or more of these: 1. R* have notoriously long development cycles. Makes sense to get the console versions out first instead of waiting on all 3. 2. MS/Sony must've funded part of dev costs. 3. Extra time needed to make the PC version better. But considering how GTA4 on the PC was lulzy and only got better with consecutive patches, I have my doubts. 4. Lack of manpower needed for a simultaneous release. 1. Half of this team has been working on this since late 09 , some of'em to collide with Team Bondi for L.A. Noire , Vancouver for MP3 etc. While the console version being out a year late is a franchise tradition since III , this particular title has a reworked this gen GTA engine carrying assets from IV , new animations & physics. Even a 3-4 year development cycle , which is normal for a GTA release is not quite enough here , that and given the biggest entry in the franchise till date when it comes to scale. 2. Doubt it. More than their financial position right now , in 2013 , they wouldn't wanna restrict themselves to a mere $50-100M deal to a specific platform. Probably hat elsewhere through a firm disty model through Take-Two for all platforms , than a timed exclusivity deal for content as the numbers are gonna be at an all-time high. 3. Again , point #1. 4. Plausible , and they started hiring more folk during the summer of 2012 IIRC. Wouldn't be that big of an issue in this present cycle of aged consoles. But also , 5. A strong business perspective behind it ? We gotta face it that no matter how much this rakes in digitally on PC , it isn't gonna touch half the numbers of the PS360 combined , heck even individually. The builds we were shown running on the PS3 , as they confirmed , wouldn't hold a candle against a mid-high machine of this day. To avoid both console fanboy tears with outrage on soical networks ( a year down the line , people will move on - moreso with the PS4XBONE ) and not pulling off a Crysis 2 at the same time , with a definitive PC port they could avoid all clouds ( no pun intended ) of negativity to even start - by just a simple PR statement in the lines of " It's GTA tradition that the PC version comes out a year late. PREASE UNDERSTAND ". WIN-WIN if you ask me. The only thing they'd be held back on consoles is platform royalty but those numbers would make them forget that even exists. Milk the consoles till the last drop and move onto the powerful one for another stake without royalties. A better model for a title as big as this.
