The 6 heists are apparently very elaborate and take a lot of time. And besides the missions, the consensus is that this is the best sandbox in an open world ever. Lots of things to do most of which are a lot of fun

yep most time spend would be on explorations,i doubt i ll start even 1 story mission for first 5 days. :notangel:

UPDATE: Digital Foundry, which has access to the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto 5, has offered an explanation for Rockstar's recommendation against installing the "play" disc.

"Rockstar recommends that you shouldn't install the GTA5 play disc on Xbox 360 and it's sound advice," Digital Foundry chief Richard Leadbetter said.

"When you first get the game, the first order of business is installing the mandatory content from disc one - this accounts for 7.7GB of data to install on your hard drive. Now, there's absolutely nothing stopping you installing disc two - the 'play' disc - onto the hard drive too, using the Xbox 360's dashboard to do so. It takes up an additional 7.8GB of storage. However, doing so impacts the game's ability to stream texture data, resulting in regular pop-in of in-game objects and textures.

"So what's the story here? Well, optimal streaming is achieved by making us of all the available bandwidth in the system. Why stream just from the hard drive when you can run in data simultaneously from both the disc and the HDD? Based on what we're seeing on the Xbox 360 version, perhaps running both DVD and HDD assets from just the one source slows down access times, impacting streaming performance. It's not game-breaking stuff, but it does take you out of the moment when it does manifest and for that reason we can't recommend installing the play disc.

"GTA5 isn't available for digital delivery on Xbox Live, but we are curious what the impact - if any - will be on the PS3 version, as that is available as a PSN download. The Digital Foundry Face-Off - due tomorrow morning at 11am - is based on comparison of the two retail disc versions of the game."

PSN download versions and hence the PS3 pirates might be facing issues because of this. Since data is streamed from single source, their might be a slow down.

Over-rated as GTA 4 might be, your statement is not an easy conclusion. GTA 4 got incredible scores because it was arguably the best open world game on "next-gen" platforms at that time. Sure it hasn't aged well, but GTA 5 has a whole generation of sandbox games to compete against.

I'm sure GTA 5 is a better game than GTA 4 in all respects, but maybe not as ahead of the competition as GTA 4 was.

Its got nothing to do with aging well. For crying out loud GTA 4 is 5 years old at most, thats about half of this gen. We arent talking Golden Eye on the N64 or Doom on the PC.

The reason you feel like it hasnt "aged well" is because the new game smell wore off and you saw the game for what it was. GTA 4 was an average game when it released, its an average game now and it will be an average game years from now.

Most reviewers bought into the hype of 4 and handed out perfect 10/10s like it was candy. Today I bet 90% of the people who are reviewing this realize that. No one wants to be caught praising the emperors new clothes twice. So they all settle on a nice little non controversial 9.

Not very sure how their streaming tech works, but it could be that having the game data split across the Hard Drive and a DVD allows for some form of parallel streaming

Exactly what I had predicted :)
