Gautam
I love the little differences between the characters. Even the way Micheal walks is different than the others. Pure f**king Alpha dog. Didnt get it. Sent you one. Got it. I thought your GT was Aftrunner. Just noticed it's your steam id.

Aftrunner
Yeah Aftrunner was an old US GT I have. I still occasionally switch over to that to buy stuff that isnt on the Indian market place but I almost never play on it.
Big Boss
Guys guys guys, gasoline can is the coolest weapon or what. I am going crazy with it. Burning people, vehicles, petrol pumps, OMG so epic. Also, the fire brigade comes along if you light anything on fire. Burnt their van And just see the tires getting burst when they catch fire. Such an awesome attention to detail. Rockstar

sudarsan
How are the visuals, is it better than RDR or on the same level can someone give me some kind of a comparison
Gautam
^ This is all over the web now . A lot of websites have published it .. Unbelievable ! I meant that in a "I know it's true but holyshit!" way. Apparently there were 7m preorders for the game. Also, $800m would be closer to 12m copies with most at $60 and a small percentage of more expensive special/collector's editions.

Big Boss
How are the visuals, is it better than RDR or on the same level can someone give me some kind of a comparison Cant be compared directly as city area was not really there in RDR. IMO GTA V looks a lot better with vivid colors and awesome vehicle models for an open world games. The characters also look good and water also is way better. The sky and sun/moon effects are similar, and so are the weather effects. However the desert and beach areas have footmarks or tire traces when you walk/drive on them, which I dont remember happening in RDR. Animal animations are also improved, and so is overall physics. When you punch someone/smash them with vehicle, they fall very realistically, I have never seen such impact physics in a game so far. ThE JuGgErNaUT
How are the visuals, is it better than RDR or on the same level can someone give me some kind of a comparison More detailed, but I felt Rdr felt more life like. Here the buildings & all are more detailed than gta 4,but still seem a bit, we'll for the lack of a better term, right out of a video game Enjoying so far, cars are a bit much to handle tough. Will take a little getting used to. Till now a notch less than Rdr
Gautam
Compared to RDR - Animation - Much better. I can't tell you how good the animation looks. The way the characters walk and transition from one action to another. It feels very very slick. Effects - Much better. The explosions (although RDR didn't have too many) look really cool. Water looks unbelievably realistic. Best water in a game I've seen. Reflections on cars, lens flare, dynamic lighting and shadows (especially gun flashlights) look really nice. Again, RDR world lacked context for a lot of these effects World - The dense city looks good but slightly at odds with rest of the world objects in terms of gfx fidelity. In RDR, the world looked more consistent with respect to the characters and other objects. Also RDR's world was more organic and less relate-able hence easier to believe while ignoring the blemishes. A lot of GTA is set in a realistic city environment which we see in 4k resolution every day so the jaggies and low res textures are easier to pick out. Overall GTA 5 looks quite a lot better than RDR. One of the most visually pleasing games this gen.
Right
So what happens now to other open world games?
Gautam
So what happens now to other open world games? Not sure. But is GTA for everyone? I haven't played any Saints Row game, but apparently some people prefer that over GTA. Would GTA 5 appeal to those gamers?
Aftrunner
I will never get this "Only one can exist" mentality. I am loving V. But I would kill for a JC2 or a Crackdown sequel. Different games that do different things. Some of those things way way better than GTA does. In pure sandbox element of chaos and fun V cant touch JC2. But for world building and attention to detail its a no contest in favor of V. I am glad all those games exist. GTA V being good doesnt automatically make every other open world game redundant, especially ones that arent even out yet. Thats pretty idiotic.
Right
SR is weak on so many fronts, I don't like that game series. unless we see a Sleeping Dogs sequel, GTA will remain unchallenged cuz there is nothing in urban-Crime-action-adventure genre. Farcry was surprising better but it had very limited sides, plus in the jungles nothing much to do.. Infamous looks good but it's superheroish MGS V will be open world but don't know how will it play out AC series was doing well until AC3, but lets see if they revive it this year. Watch dogs, we need to see, it can be really really good. Same goes for ME2. Edited September 18, 2013 by Udham
HarishProGamer
Considering the introduction and pure Gameplay/attention to detail Factor, This is one of the Best Games I have played in the entire generation. Damn! @ those character animations/ Lightening/HDR/Shadows, Weather, Roads, Vehicles and mind you I haven't even seen the Beach/Water yet, Just playing the main missions, Not yet started messing around. The 5 years hard work with so many talents behind is really showing! A Next Gen Watch_Dogs is the only real competitor which I could see as of now, Nothing else comes close to GTA V when it comes to open world IMHO. Though I am just 5% in the Game, I have a feeling that this might not be in terms of much emotional level as RDR or even GTA IV. Guys who completed more than 50%, Can you comment on that.... I mean are there any emotional moments in the Game. One thing I noticed this early is, The Game is much funnier than GTA IV. Franklyn - Lamar conversations are hilarious.

I never found any GTA's to be emotionally drawing. Only RDR did a very good job at that aspect, the other GTA's plot was only slightly interesting, the open world environment and the individual missions with the fun thrown in makes GTA games good IMO. Will start GTA 5 tomorrow, cant wait
meaNmachine
I mean are there any emotional moments in the Game. When you get - 1) Lap dances in a strip club 2) Hooker services in a secluded area ^^ NOT A SPOILER Does that count as emotional moments?
