Rockstar usually release their games within 5-6 months after first reveal, GTA4 was the only exception imo because it was delayed. So May release date sounds very possible, and certainly not 2013

But with Max Payne 3 in March next year,I dont think a May release for GTA V is possible. And R* have released only one game a year since GTA 4(GTA 4in 08',GTA 4 DLC in 09',RDR in 10',LA Noire in 11').

However, since apart from ME3 and Halo 4 there isnt any big title coming out next year.Hence,R* might want to take advantage of that.So anything is possible as of now. :P

The trailer actually had more footage than I expected. I just hope it isn't all serious like GTA IV (and from the trailer it does seem like it is).

Ok this is ridiculous. GTA IV's narrative might have been a more sombre and tragic one, but it was full of idiosyncratic characters and excellent humour. Gay Tony even more so.

The writing quality was infact the best in the series. Vercetti and CJ were fun but they were very hollow characters which Rockstar won't and shouldn't go back to.

And honestly, this is where the industry needs to be heading. More serious narratives, deeper characterisations et cetera.

I really think GTA V will get it right. Mission variety and design lessons from Gay Tony/RDR/GTA4 along with improvements in tech and a consistently high quality of writing and GTA V could easily be my game of the generation.

2405 shows up several times in trailer, such as on the side of the Postal van. Also, the theme song - Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake by the Small Faces, was released on 24/05 1968. Coincidence?

def. not

I love seriousness in my game writing (check my sig - you can't get more sombre than that game) but GTA IV was a complete antithesis of the games before it. The style of the games was always over the top. Maybe I put it wrong, I didn't hate the direction the storytelling took in GTA IV (the writing was great as usual) but I didn't like the elements of "realism" injected into the gameplay... the driving, the shooting and even the movement was a serious PITA. It was the reason I gave up on the game.

I actually liked the movement even though I know where you're coming from. I was just in love with the animation system. It makes other games seem so floaty.

Thing is that in terms of evolution, the game largely succeeded and it more or less deserves the accolades that it received.

There are just so many incidental details that make it shine. Watching Ricky Gervais do stand up was a masterstroke.

Yeah it had problems such as lack of checkpoints etc but those were far worse in the earlier games.

Like I said, Rockstar pays heed to grievances and Gay Tony is an excellent example of that.

It only inspires confidence for the next game. I am really pumped.

First thing I do as soon as I get this game is jack someone's bike and ride on to the nearest open road blaring this. FIRST FCKIN THING.

And then jack a car and listening to this:

And then shoot some fools listening to this

Well... i like to have it in 2012 too. :D

Besides what else do we have next year? Halo4 is a year away, in fact I dont even have a list of 5 games to look forward to in 2012....yet.

Kya bolta hai man ...

2012

TOP GAMES

Tomb Raider

The Last Guardian

Mass Effect 3

Final Fantasy 13-2

GTA5

Tomb raider alone is worth more than 5- 10/10 games....B)

Tomb Raider - after seeing the e3 show, i am less excited about it.

The Last Guardian - 2013 man

Mass Effect 3 - no

Final Fantasy 13-2 - no

GTA5

I think i will be clearing the backlog in stead playing new games in 2012.

& not mentioning the platform gives me hope that GTA is goin back home.....to daddy

makes sense as ps3 has a large install base now

Its always been a bastarad child of daddy, uncle and grampa. Though grampa may not get the cuddle this time.
