Right Posted November 6, 2011 Report Share Posted November 6, 2011 GTA V Trailer analysis What you see is what you get...or NOT 1. Locations To start with, lets have a look at GTA SA map. - GTA SA was huge, I mean its 4x times larger than GTA IV map. Though RDR is even bigger, 2x the size of GTA SA. - What we know about GTA V is that it will take place in the city of Los Santos (Las Angeles) in the state of San Andreas. - There is no clarity from the trailer that whether adjoining cities, San Fiero (San Fransisco) and Las Venturas (Las Vegas) would also make into the game. - The GTA V could be much smaller than GTA SA after all. Below is the leaked image of the map, which surfaced yesterday. - However all hope is not lost, see the Wind farm below, did not feature in GTA SA, this said to be located somewhere between LA and Las Vegas. And Mt. Chillad(Rosemite national park) which was in the south of the San Fiero in GTA SA, is making a return too, so lets hope that these cities are included as well. 2. Characters There is speculation about multiple protogonists in the game, nothing is confirmed yet. - As the trailer reveals, one of the protogonists has moved in the city, he has a family and kid(s). - We have spotted Tommy Vercetti look-alike, hails from from Vice city. He looks aged, in his 40s, and is spotted on 3 different locations in the trailer and should be one of the main characters of the game. - We might have Carl 'CJ' Johnson from GTA SA too. - Continuing from IV, I guess we have Nico Bellic here too, not sure why is he dressed like a hobo. If that is not convincing, there was a Flight tix issued in name of Nico Bellic, it was spotted on the Rockstar Social Club sometime back. We are all ear for a riches to rags tale. - It was mentioned in TBOGT, that Luis Lopez has a brother, Ernesto, who moved out of the Liberty city and has a family. There are numerous rumors about protogonists being a black hispanic guy, Ernesto could be one of the main characters. http://gta.wikia.com/Ernesto_Lopez - We also see a building "Mile High Club" being constructed in Downtwn Las Santos. Mile high club could be a reference to Kingdom tower (a mile high building in construction in Soudi Arabia). Which means we may get a plesant visit from our beloved friend, Yusuf Amir from TBOGT. AMEN TO THAT!!! 3. Character customization Basic customizations will be there for sure, beside that we have: - Piercing (I think we can assume Tattoos as well) - Wig and Styling - We might have activities like Gymming and Yoga to keep them bodies fit and toned and I'm sure you could find fast food joints all over the city if you want to bulk up. 4. Air travel - We have seen Choppers, Jets, G5s and Blimps in the trailer. And we hope can fly all of them in the game. Rockstar, now can you simplify the flying controls? pretty please with sugar on top. - I am perticularly excited about the Blimps, which are usually stationary, but who knows we might able to use them like Zeppelins, giving you a nice and slow aerial tour of the city. 5. Release Date Strong hints are dropped that awesomeness will be upon us on 24th of the May. - Below you can see the guy putting the board "for sale" and the house no. on the curb reads 2405. - Also the song used in the trailer was released on 24th May http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogdens'_Nut_Gone_Flake - If this is not enough, TBOGT had Patrick McReary leaving the Liberty City to San Andreas in a plane shown below, read the number. Oh ya, he could feature in the game too. 6. Visuals Rockstar has done a huge favor to the game by droping that muddy brown filter they had in IV. The sunny Los Santos sports full 16m color palate. The trailer could be heavily post-processed, but it looks good. Detailing, draw distances and lighting look fantastic. A few gifs showcasing the visuals, spoilered to save you some bandwidth. - On the beach, watch those waves hitting the shore. - Trek at Mt. Chillad, watch those clouds. - Off-road driving, watch them cars leaving big dirt cloud behind. The rivets on the windmill fans are so detailed here. - Crop dusting plane, flyiny butterflies and leaves - This is my favorite, see those countless small blinking lights from cars - And here ends the trailer, leaving us with amazing aerial view of the city 7. Misc. Rockstar hasn't lost their humor for sure, we are yet to spot a tw@t in LS yet..till then. - Ace liquor - We aim not to lose it - Putting FU in fumingate - Speedophile - Las Santos Police logo. The bigfoot. Obey and Survive. That is all folks, if R* manages to iron out few kinks and delivers another stellar experience like RDR, this could be the best GTA ever. there are few more things which people noticed in the trailer like Dogs, Customizable weapons, Roller-coasters, Bicycles etc. I 9 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It may be some kind a homage (more like poking fun) at him since they're wearing similar coats. That's definitely not Niko though. Also, you missed a joke. Look at the banner of the mile high club. Some one posted this on GAF and its quite awesome to know that after seeing the trailer people searched online/IRL to get pics of those locations.
