Sackboy
More RDR pl0x Edited January 4, 2012 by Sackboy
Big Boss
Most guys used some trainers to get past them I did. I hated when my guy turned fat after eating 1 burger. And I hated the way he fell off the bike like he is some toddler, just because his bike skill was low. That was far more frustrating than Roman and other dumbasses calling me regularly in GTA 4. Right
The way I see is that GTA4 has best vice-overs and soundtrack, good story line, awesome characters and meaty campaign. But it doesn't have good gameplay, take any mission and you will find that, they have woven everything nice around it but at the core it is the same gameplay and stuff which you would repeat in 10 or more missions with a slight variation. Same goes with RDR too. I don't know if the designers feel this, cuz for them other part seems to be more important. In free-roam, if you are not looking for pigeons and jumps, its pointless driving across the city, it just has no interactivity and no gameplay. Again, I don't want devs to add too much of over-the-top action like SR, I don't want to somersault the civilians for kicks or spew garbage on on people passing by. I just want them to add some gameplay there. I don't remember GTA SA much, I finished it long-long time back, don't remember if XP system felt PITA, though it all depends how well they integrate it with the main story. Rosh
It's attention to detail that counts and variety As long as we can relate to it

I don't understand what other kind of interactivity you expect ? The only wasted thing in GTA IV were the TV shows, I never watched any of them. ScrewyAurum
and the best thing about free roam, driving like a maniac going on mad killing sprees..dont tell me no one here blocked off a street with vehicles and went buck wild on the fuss... Big Boss
IMO only thing GTA 4/EFLC missing was the regenerating health. I hated when I died while trying to do something crazy OR trying to be more experimental in story missions. RDR had it and it was way more fun to play than GTA 4. I played GTA IV a long time back, but I remember that I really enjoyed all the TV shows. I think I spent more than an hour watching TV shows. Hell, you said comedy shows right? You can catch it on TV, instead of driving to the place But it did get boring, but after several hours of TV time IMO only thing GTA 4/EFLC missing was the regenerating health. Ne0
Even I'm up for a regenerating health system, spoiled by this gen games like cod
Tyler
Yeah I want regenerating health too. That and mid-mission checkpoints (something which EFLC had). Since RDR had both I think GTA V will have them too.

Tyler
Driving to Ammunation for armor every time and finding (super rare) health packs during missions was frustrating. The multi-scenario missions, clunky controls and lack of checkpoints in GTA IV didn't help either.
Big Boss
I wouldn't prefer regenerating health in a GTA title :| That would suck. It kills away all the enjoyment from causing mayhem in open world games, almost 99% of which dont support quick save. Imagine you travelled 100s of miles on bike, only to get run over by some random truck, and have to do it again.
devil_angel
I don't feel like arguing with you guys. It's not gonna convince R* anyway
Tyler
^^ Come on, admit it... you just want to be "old school" and all that. Besides that I see no logical reason for not having regenerating health in GTA when almost every other game has it. It doesn't make the game "easy", just removes a lot of frustration. Otherwise, the main reasons is that I want it to be like the older GTA's (3 and VC). I don't want the frustration to go away from a GTA game. It's something that gave me an immense sense of satisfaction each time I completed a mission; I don't want to miss out on that feeling. Call me crazy but I don't want spoon-fed mission progress *Hides behind Nash* Yeah, there's no logic to it. It's personal preference more than anything
aquaticbullet
^^ i wud second that. . currently playing gta 4 . i admit tht redoing missions again from scratch is a pain in the ar*e but d satisfaction of completing it overshadows it.
