PhantomShade
On a serious note Steam need PS4 feature which allow you to play while you download the same game.This.For all the "superiority" of steam/PC,it doesn't have this simple feature
playstation
Steam needs to put 4k textures, language packs and first person view as separate downloads to save download size Yea ..even language packs...what will i do downloading so many different languages when i am not even going to play anything else than english. They should have separate NPC packs too. Like girls pack, guys pack etc. This. For all the "superiority" of steam/PC,it doesn't have this simple feature Also separate michael, franklin and trevor pack On a serious note Steam need PS4 feature which allow you to play while you download the same game. That feature though is great but in the end you still have to download full file....so in any case you are in a fix if you have to download 65gb file. ALPHA17
I just downloaded Castlevania 2 which was just 6.5 gb....can you believe it when compared to this.. Yes I can, considering that Castlevania was not on the next-gen consoles, will not even hold a candle to how good GTA V would look and considering the scale of the latter. Problem is not just BB ..problem is HDD space as well. I agree steam will die if they dont do something about compressing these files. Some technology is so needed in this area...kinda of like compress 65gb game file into 15 gb and the game installs 20gb......something like reserving 5gb all the time to uncompressed that compressed file and delete it once that particular section is done and so on....like how ram works... Also they need to give option to people if they need to download 4k hd files...if the game supports 4k. That is something that the developer would have to do. Physical copies on PC function like this. Digital downloads have to be set-up like this by the publisher / developer. STEAM cannot do anything. This. For all the "superiority" of steam/PC,it doesn't have this simple feature Should I list a litany of things that you cannot do on the #NEXTGEN boxes. But you can atleast play some of the game while the rest downloads Also Steam should add play while your game patch download s feature like PS4 You can do that, download a title in the background while playing another title. If it is a patch, cannot help it. Or maybe you did not know that. Yea ..even language packs...what will i do downloading so many different languages when i am not even going to play anything else than english. BioShock INFINITE's last patch added native Japanese support to the game and another language, that itself was ~5GB or so in size, so it is not such a simple task. I was not blaming steam for it...but i think even they can help. Why am i being forced to download 5gb japanese language support...give me a option dont force it on me....this can be simple if they try too. At the maximum VALVe can have a set of guidelines but the publisher / developer has to implement them and they cannot be forced into it. So, at the end of the day, everything is at the companies discretion. You can have 50GB corridor shooters like Wolfenstein: TNO and you can have DISHONORED and all its DLC packed into ~9.5GB of files.

PhantomShade
. Should I list a litany of things that you cannot do on the #NEXTGEN boxes. Yes but for all the million things you can do on a PC,STEAM® still doesn't have this simple feature that said "inferior" #PeasantBoxes have? You can do that, download a title in the background while playing another title. I meant play a portion of the game that is being downloaded,Again a feature not present in the "perfect" DRM called STEAM® But present in the SONY PlayStation 4 and the Microsoft Xbox ONE to some extent If it is a patch, cannot help it. Again,A very simple to implement feature,Not present in STEAM™,But present in the consoles For the Love of Darwin,Why must i be forced to download a full patch on my Infinitely superior Personal Computer,While my PlayStation 4 allows me to download the patch in the background whilst playing the game? Or maybe you did not know that.? Oh i did.I had to wait for around 6 hours for a patch to download before STEAM© let me play Bioshock : Infinite. This was more than a year ago. I wonder why STEAM© doesn't have these features? Maybe because the complacent community doesn't demand it? A superior platform like PC should have these features . Maybe you should stop acting like the pompous I-Know-It-All guy Before waving that admonishing finger at someone Did you even read the purple replies? Oh and you do have the habbit of posting those smart arse memes instead of posting a civilized argument about why you disagree with the other guy.But i guess this is the Internet. Also Steam isnt your Mom or something stop getting so butthurt when someone criticizes it.Please.It is simply a DRM Platform/Storefront.
