Big Boss
Wtf so is this too a nvidia title? Expect terrible performance then.

ALPHA17
^^ Lol! Looking at your Radeon - AMD, No surprise in expecting those comments. It will be terrible all around, only the cream of nVidia cards can run these so called 'features' with any sort of consistency. And before LoLing I would look at all the recent nVidia Gameworks titles released in the last quarter, performance so terrible on launch it is not even funny that they have engineers assisting the studios. Wtf so is this too a nvidia title? Expect terrible performance then. Unless it says so on the box, no. Even BattleField 4 utilises a lot of so called nVidia exclusive features (while FROSTBITE allows you to use MANTLE render API). Big Boss
^^ Lol! Looking at your Radeon - AMD, No surprise in expecting those comments. As Alpha said, all recent nvidia titles have been terrible ports on all cards except maybe 980 and sometimes 970. Unity, FC4, Dying Light just to name a few. Whereas AMD games ran fine on both nvidia and AMD cards, like Alien Isolation, DA I etc. Even if I were a nvidia card owner, then unless I owned a 980, I will never want a game to be nvidia optimized. playstation
Correct if i am wrong but GTA games are not very good at running smoothly on PC...I used to hear GTAIV took quite a lot on system resources....and GTA3 was pretty bad too. Black_Hawk
Correct if i am wrong but GTA games are not very good at running smoothly on PC...I used to hear GTAIV took quite a lot on system resources....and GTA3 was pretty bad too. I remember back in the day when I had a PIII system with 64MB memory GTA III had severe frame rate issues while playing, driving through the city was barely possible. Strangely enough on that same system when I tried GTA: Vice City it ran much better and I was able to complete the game without any problems. The trouble with GTA III was it required a minimum of 96MB memory to run and my system just didn't have that. It was a few months later when I got another stick of RAM that I was finally able to run GTA III without hiccups.

FC4/Splinter Cell Blacklist worked great for me but yeah almost all Nvidia gameworks perform sh*t. Finger crossed for GTA V and if i am not wrong game is under development for PC since 2011? correct me if i am wrong but Ground Zero was also a Nvidia gameworks game? Which is exactly the problem that plagues titles like Unity, Watch_Dogs and Dying Light. Edited February 6, 2015 by ALPHA17

Agreed, GTA III's problem was hardware related and clearly with the 64MB of RAM my PIII system back in the day struggled to run it. Touch wood, Dying Light has been running well so far on my rig, albeit with a few of the graphical bells and whistles notched down.
joken732a
Same Dying light works decent for me too.Watch Dogs has major issue and never tried unity.
Black_Hawk
Same Dying light works decent for me too. Watch Dogs has major issue and never tried unity. What issues did you face in Watch Dogs? Btw, just came to mind there is one annoying little issue that I face with Dying Light. Whenever I start the game it starts in windowed mode. Tried setting the options from the in-game settings menu but to no avail. What I do is, start the game, let it go to the main menu, then I press 'Alt+Enter' and then it goes fullscreen. NameSubjectToChange
And before LoLing I would look at all the recent nVidia Gameworks titles released in the last quarter, performance so terrible on launch it is not even funny that they have engineers assisting the studios. That's pretty much on the devs though right. It's not like having nVidia Gamework features messes up the code or something. Hopefully R* has the game optimized given they've delayed the pc version every chance they've gotten so far.
playstation
Only GTA 4 was sh*t port. Okay but there was this Cybercafe wala near my relatives house where i use to go frequently ...he use to complain about GTA games not running smoothly but man he could not do without it also...Kya craze hota tha uske paas yeh game ka...young school boys coming at his cafe and playing for hours and hours...ussne internet pe utna nahi kamaya jitna GTA se kamayahoga... ALPHA17
That's pretty much on the devs though right. It's not like having nVidia Gamework features messes up the code or something. It is still laughable that to implement any of these features ensures that the lion's share of your user base is not going to use them in-game just to make the experience worthwhile. And no, not only your competitors hardware, even yours is incapable of running them with a modicum of efficacy. And, 9 /10 cases it is some proprietary tripe from nVidia's side, PHYsX (look pretty particle effects, oops your frame rate tanks), FXAA (vaseline filter AA), DSR (super-sampling but what use if you gimp your own memory systems in enthusiast grade cards). That problem will continue to exist as long as nVidia forces /cosmetic features/ exclusive to their hardware on developers themselves. Despite their constant salt over consoles this generation, nVidia has been trying to console-ize the PC platform which is not going to happen. Like ever. AAA Devs on tight schedules aren't going to waste their time optimizing cosmetic features which isn't required for the core gameplay, and won't even be turned on by 10% of their core audience. Unfortunately, I'm feeling the same thing could happen with Mantle, unless it spreads like forest fire. Even then, that still isn't no reason why their base game is unoptimized. *looking at you Ubisoft*
