Not really true.  Anyway, PC is just a small percentage of the overall sales.  I'm sure R* can live without a couple of hundred disgruntled fanboys !

Bhai every PC gamer on this forum except Alpha and Engineer, will buy RDR 2 Dayone on PC.  Joe will buy RDR 2 mods or not.

Typical GTA players and plebs without any understanding of how modding works. wwsCovh.png Shows their target audience.

~10+ million owners after a year of delay and actively among most played game is just a small chunk. Sure.

Modding is what kept GTA series alive on PC for years. It's not just a year of work or two. It's an active scene for more than 10 years which kept the games fresh. Also, this not only affects GTA V but also previous Rockstar games which people still play on PC.

Second, this doesn't even stop the online hackers as the game doesn't have an active anti-cheat system. 2Y3lhGv.png

Say goodbye to all the cool stuff and enjoy their crappy online content. Can't believe plebs are actually defending them.

Wow, they really changed after GTA V. Can't believe they would do that. Seriously? They already make billions and on top of that they sell their awful shark cards and release more online stuff which is super expensive in-game.

Mods honestly are more fun than their own updates and keep their game alive...for years. It was selling point on PC.

Pure greed.

I am like 90% sure I remember reading they tried something similar with GTA4.

They have always been a bunch of assholes when it comes to modding. This is nothing new.

They realized it the hard way after getting burnt with GTA SA (hot coffee scandal) ....

@joe, If you bought the PC version for mods alone , yeah, i can understand that you would be pissed.

Rockstar is talking with OpenIV developer, issues new statement on mods

Rockstar says it believes in "reasonable fan creativity" and that Take-Two will "generally" not take legal action.

GTA modding tool OpenIV receives an update, signaling development will continue.

It looks like the massive protest worked and OpenIV is back in business.

Another easy dot to connect: this turnaround is due to the massive protest by fans and modders, which included a swarm of negative Steam reviews and a petition with thousands of signatures. The players talked, and Rockstar and Take-Two listened. Good job, everyone!

77K+ petition and 100K+ negative reviews hurt them.

Community 1 - 0 T2. Now sod off.

Except OpenIV gets automatically disabled when going online.

Every game has exploits but it's developers job to have a good anti-cheat system to main the community.

Multi-million dollar game and has $10 anti-cheat system. Good luck. bg1CGcX.png

The decision was finally reversed right? Was checking steam reviews last night. Open IV will continue, but people are still pissed and stated that they would leave the negative review as it is (Well some of the reviews atleast )

These same people will buy RDR day one if announced for Pc.

Rockstar PC audience is very small compared to consoles. GTAV sold over 75 million on consoles alone.

Rockstar PC audience is loud minority

Not everyone is gullible like you. Even if the audience is small, it still is alive in long run. You absolutely have no understanding.

This small loud minority is still better than 12yo plebs who would bend over for anything Rockstar throws at. This same loud minority won against T2 by taking a foot down and forced them to reverse their decision.

Yes, sort of, for now. OpenIV received a new public update and seems to be working. Plenty of them decided not to change the review just yet as this can be another trick for the summer sale.

Anyways, the review score looks legit now. 64% overall. z3aEEVi.png

Grand Theft Auto Online just had its best money-making quarter ever

Grand Theft Auto V has been out for almost four years, but its online component is still Take-Two‘s big money-maker. In fact, Grand Theft Auto Online just had its best quarter yet.

Take-Two noted today in its earnings report for the first quarter of fiscal year 2018 that Grand Theft Auto Online exceeded net sales expectations and was the single largest contributor to recurrent consumer spending. GTA Online is an open world multiplayer game where you can earn digital cash through playing, which you can then use to buy things likes clothes and cars. But you can also spend real money to pad your virtual wallet.

Grand Theft Auto Online helped to drive Take-Two’s net sales for the quarter to $348.3 million, up 28 percent. A whopping 94 percent of that, $326.2 million, came from back catalog games, mostly Grand Theft Auto V and NBA 2K17.
