playstationdude
What's the difference between the two? Can hardly notice any difference in those pics
_Krypton_
^The shadows are much more visible & there is more detail in the skin
Ph3N0M
I had to check a few times that this is not some 'screenshots thread'.
playstationdude
Meh. The difference is virtually un noticeable imho. The only game where we could really make out the difference so far is tomb raider imho. And maybe AC4
Big Boss
60 fps is the real difference. I can hope for very less jaggies and better textures. I will wait for DF analysis before buying. This game and GTA V screamed next gen please when I played them on PS3. You could clearly see them held back due to hardware.
MarketTantrik
Given the innate, excellent visual quality of the base game on the PS3, what you need to look for in the PS4 release is 1080p/60. The frame rate alone will make a huge difference to the experience. Edit: Ninja'd. One game that really needs a next gen makeover is Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen. It is a painful experience on the PS3. CarbonCore
Subtle differences, but thats all you can hope for when the original looked so amazing. People would post screens in GAF remaster thread and everyone would be like 'whoa the PS4 version looks boss', and the poster would say 'no, no, its still PS3 version'. Had few of those instances. playstationdude
^^what difference did you exactly notice in TR & AC4?! Apart from tresFX & draw distance of AC4(open world Game) Screen shots & specially of cutscenes don't tell the actual performance story Thats why I posted these cross gen. Shots OpenWorld games like GTA V have an advantage though Apart from increase in resolution, framerate & textures They can add more assets like more foliage & more characters/vehicles & stuff on screen But games like TLOU,MGS5 & TR don't have that advantage Though I think they should have added TresFX & dynamic foliage like TR for that special upgraded look that's missing They had 1 full year time to upgrade TR clearly has better character model textures. Sach4life
TR clearly has better character model textures. The last of us as it is looks amazing. Much better than the ps3 version of TR. So, the scope is much less.
CarbonCore
The backlash against TR was because the DR version was basically reskinned PC version with couple of added effects and new Lara face, and you could pick-up PC version for 10-15$ when they announced DR for 60$. And even that one dropped like a rock to the point that its 10$ cheaper than TLoU PS3+story dlc right now.
playstationdude
@sach and ank- yeah could be Maybe a side by side comparison both versions playing would be apt.
playstation
TBH...joh log ke paas PS3 version already hai should not care much about it..This is mostly for PS4 owners who have not played the game...infact sony recently said about them collecting data on ps4 owners and found lot of owners had still not played TLOU....which is why they bought ps4 version for them. A Huge Proportion of PS4 Owners Never Played The Last of Us, Sony Says Walker didn't share exact numbers, but said that Sony can see how many PS4 owners have played The Last of Us by looking at its PlayStation Network data. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/a-huge-proportion-of-ps4-owners-never-played-the-l/1100-6420923/ btw one more screenshot of ps4 version
_Krypton_
Probably they knew a lot of xbox 360 users would be switching to ps4 just saying :angelnot:
playstation
Last of us ps4 development began ages ago ND started working on the remaster as soon as the production on tlou ps3 was wrapped up. Or did Sony have the "data" even before ps4 was released in the wild? The game released only after ps4 announcement. I believe that many companies have data available from day 1 through pre order and surveys ...I my self have got lot of surveys here and there on what sony product i own...will i switch to ps4 when it comes out etc etc .... ....apple manages to predict the demand of its product even a year back and through these survey and all. Dude...these days you will be amazed how much data are available with companies about us ...what we play on...how many hours etc etc. Its actually scary tbh. CarbonCore
Probably they knew a lot of xbox 360 users would be switching to ps4 just saying :angelnot: I think by June 2013 (when the game came out) and after Sony E3, it was pretty much a done deal Would be hilarious if PS4 version outsells PS3 version with 10 times less install base. playstation
You really believe they managed to estimate the number of people who never played TLOU on a hardware that was yet to release just by looking at it's pre-order numbers? And then in an act of kindness ordered ND to make the definitive version of one of their best games which they probably poured their heart and soul into. No offense but whatever you are smoking, I want it too. Must be some good sh*t. I am amazed that in this age you really find it hard too believe that..... Btw it was Your Microsoft that might have helped to push lot of new customers to PS brand after their DRM sh*t announcement at E3.

And then in an act of kindness ordered ND to make the definitive version of one of their best games which they probably poured their heart and soul into. The cognitive dissonance is strong in this one. Where has anyone suggested that they made the game "as an act of kindness"? Sony saw a market for the TLOU on the PS4 and pushed forward with its development. It really would've been stupid of them to make the game solely for people who had already played it on the PS3. I have a 360 and a PS4 and haven't played a single PS3 exclusive. I have two other friends who are in the same boat and we all are really looking forward to TLOU. I stopped playing at around 80% and haven't touch the DLC yet, but still it would be great if you could just wipe it clean from memory and start fresh. CarbonCore
You didn't finish it?! Nope, didn't want it to end. Sounds stupid but you wouldn't believe the number of great games I've left at 90-95% because of same reason.
rAgHaV
Wtf cc Go and finish it now.. then play the ps4 version again.. trust me this is one of those ultra rare games that always feel fresh no matter how many times you've finished them..
