Simbin has quietly announced GTR 3, heralding the return of the highly acclaimed racing series.

A teaser website makes for a muted and mysterious debut, with few details beyond a slideshow of images soundtracked by the roar and whine of racing engines - audio that, the website states, has been taken directly from the game.

The first GTR helped establish Simbin as one of the top developers of racing games when it was released in 2005. Since then, the Swedish studio has worked on the Race series on the PC, with Race Pro coming to Xbox 360 in 2009.

A GTR sequel was developed by London's Slightly Mad Studios, and that team is currently working on the ambitious crowd developed Project Cars.

There are no details offered as to whether GTR 3 will remain exclusive to the PC or if it'll be console bound too.

The site throws up a handful of clues of what to expect - GT machinery, including what appears to be Audi's R8 LMS GT3 and BMW Z4 GT3, can be spotted, alongside shots of rustic, tree-lined circuits, suggesting a return to the classic racing of 2005's GT Legends.

Ferrari P4/5 Competizione Licensed for GTR3

SimBin Studios revealed in their latest development blog that the “one of a kind masterpiece” Glickenhaus Ferrari P4/5 Competizione is licensed for GTR 3. The short but sweet blog describes the history of the P 4/5 and how the unique car even came into existence. Whether as a road or race car, the P4/5 is an engineering wonder in itself and is an impressive addition to GTR3. As described in the blog, the P4/5 is “1230Kg of pure race car powered by a Italian V8 giving roughly 450 ponies.”

License –> Pagani Zonda R

Time to announce another beauty for our project. Today we introduce a car that does not really fit anywhere, but it is so cool that we have to have it in-game. Not based on any series regulation , not obeying any laws for road cars. So it can only be used in one place, and one place only…….the race track.

We are of-course talking about the Pagani Zonda R, where the “R” stands for Ridiculously cool and fast Race caR.

The Pagani Zonda R, created by the company founder, Horacio Pagani. Sitting here next to his most brutal beautiful design.

Powered by a Mercedes AMG v12 power engine, it not only produces great speed but also fantastic sound!
