godspeed4476
The most freakiest and life threatening experience of my life was being kidnapped and held in bathroom for 1 whole day in UP when supporting cousin for uni elections. for the 1st time in my life, i actually thought, there is a possibility that I wont be able to see my family again. but every such and other incident has only made me and my resolve stronger. The only thing i am really scared of now is Finance exams

Karooo
Anyone over here have any irrational fears brought on by freaky events? For me, it's well flying. I used to love flying once upon a time but this one Air India flight changed my life forever. I was on my way back from Dubai and everything was going smooth. We've finished our dinner and we're a good one hour away from landing when we suddenly hit a rough patch. Before I knew it the plane started rocking from side to side violently and it's altitude started dipping suddenly. Some over head baggage holders opened up and all the serving trolleys started vibrating violently as well. People in the compartment started yelling, some were crying and as Lost-esque as this sounds, it was the most mind fkin experience of my life. To make matters worse, none of the cabin crew even bothered to make any sort of announcements to calm some of the passengers down. We landed safely a while later but now, I'm so fkin petrified of flying I keep getting crazy nervous as and when I have to fly. lol it happens when there is a storm and you are passsing through the clouds Its normal lol. NO its not, in all my years i ve never seen a situation where hand baggage starts falling and plane starts rocking heavily. I think Karoo was the pilot, lets prosecute him

Solitaire
turbulence is OK but overhead baggage falling is I've had a few rough flights (generally that happens on Indian Airlines ) but never has any baggage fallen out from the compartment before.... There was this return flight from thailand last hols where there were some 6-7 "local" Tamil fellows... downright indecent buggers... arguing and cussing like they were in some village bus and fighting about who was gonna pay the customs guy for their bags bulging with booze.... no wonder they call such filth "Kuruvis" That was one time when I was half-hoping the flight would crash and sink without a trace... Cyborg
I just got a new irrational fear today. I was driving over a huge steel bridge built over the river Brahmaputra(in my new fiat punto) when suddenly, it began shaking like hell and it seemed as if it would come apart, and I had to hit the brakes as the tyres felt like bouncing up and down., it kept shaking for well over 30 secs and it seemed like the bridge would break up and I would fall into the sea. Finally it stopped and i was able to cross the bridge and then comes a call from my home, a huge earthquake hit Assam measuring 6.3. I felt relieved that no sea monsters were lurking below the bridge and not trying to pull me into it but still the next time I am crossing that bridge, it would def freak me out.
