Resident Evil 6 reaches 4.5 million in sales

Despite mixed Resident Evil 6 reviews, 4.5 million copies of the shooter have been sold.

Capcom have stated that they expect worldwide sales to surpass 7 million by the end of the fiscal year (March 31, 2013). The game released just days ago and, with the sales it has now, could easily reach this proposed mark.

When a crappy spinoff like RE ORC pulled 2m week one , this wasnt really surprising lol.

Games sell based on name and marketing not quality.Tons of games out there already prove this , RE6 is another one in the lineup :)

@Nemo and Dullu - Thats not what hes trying to say , I bet the guys in black suits have more input than the devs or fans. Also Listening only to fans has killed many franchises. Fans of the games arent really the best game developers.

Its shipped. Not sold.

Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) is pleased to announce that worldwide initial shipments of "Resident Evil 6", the latest addition to the "Resident Evil" franchise, for "PlayStation® 3" and Xbox 360® have surpassed 4.5 million.

Expect bomba price drops in a month or so. :giggle:

^^ Shipped == sold to retailers which means capppy got their moolah.

We will know if they reach their target 7m if this shipment gets sold out and they ship more copies.

Orrr this.... but after seeing RE ORC performance , yea not happening. People seem to overestimate the power of reviews , remember guys games like MOH did 7m or something

Everyone so merciless. Its not a survival horror anymore but pumping lead into zombies is still fun.

Its a combination of the Capcom hate that has culminated over recent years , plus the fact that THEY have actually Developed a truly mediocre game for once. Its basically something everyone wanted , so they can go all out now :P

RE1 is the only game in the series which can be truly called as a survival horror. ( the Gamecubea version was even better, Lisa Trevor much?). Re2 was alrite , but the game had an easy mode where all weapons had unlimited ammo and an unlimited ink ribbon aswell for unlimited saves. And Re3 .... other than nemesis randomly suprising u there really was anything else other than trivial and mundane puzzles.

People are all praising Re4 as the "last good re game". Re4's success is the reason why the series headed in this direction. Wasnt it already established that resident evil was an action game after re5 ?? Tsch seriously Re6 deserved better.
