But seriously, WTF is up with studios delaying games ? It seems to be happening left, right and centre nowadays. And when a game is released on time, it has numerous bugs. Unreal Engine 3 FTL :D

"In Free Radical we trust", but i have my doubts on Ubi...................... i just hope don't push out an unfinished product just to make a quick buck for the next financial year. im sold on a game depending mainly on the developers and of course the final product. Free Radical have a good history..... even place them in cult status.

Pre-Order Haze For Your Bonus Drug Paraphenalia

From Kotaku

__________________________________________________________

Drugs are bad? Don't tell Ubisoft! Not only will the taking of drugs form a cornerstone of upcoming shooter Haze's game design, but they're celebrating the fact with a pre-order offer on their official company store. Buy Haze for the PS3 now and you'll not only get the game shipped to you on day 1 of its release, you'll also get a nifty drug-filled syringe. Which is really a pen, but it looks to all the world like a drug-filled syringe. We recommend it as a classy, sophisticated addition to your office stationary arsenal.

Ubisoft: Haze not delayed until March

Free Radical's big PS3 exclusive debut, Haze, caught our eye when we first saw it at last year's at PAX. Rumblings that the game's early winter release date was pushed back to March, or potentially even later, have abounded since then, but Ubisoft has confirmed to Ars that the title is expected to land before March.

Ubisoft Montreal's Audrey-Ann Milot told Ars in an email that the company had "decided to postpone the release" to "put the final touches to the game," and that the game is still slated to be released in "January-February 2008."

The game's original November release was postponed for the aforementioned reason, and perhaps to avoid a market saturated with numerous other big name titles. Rumors that the game had been delayed again surfaced when retailers such as GameStop changed the pre-release date to March 2008.

With the pedigree of the fantastic Timesplitters franchise behind it, Free Radical seems poised to hit the PS3 in a big way with a strong single player and multiplayer shooter, and publisher Ubisoft has another big title to follow Assassin's Creed

Haze PS3 Delayed Again

by Chris Faylor Jan 23, 2008 11:15am CST

Publisher Ubisoft has once again pushed back the release date of Free Radical's drug-enhanced shooter Haze. The company now expects the title to arrive at some point during its 2008 fiscal year, which runs from April 1, 2008 to March 31, 2009.

:rofl2: :rofl2:

News of the delay was packaged within a financial report issued today. The company had previously slated the game for release last year, but it was pushed back and expected to hit by this March.

Initially announced for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the PC and Xbox 360 editions of Haze disappeared from the official fact sheet and site in late May. "We just felt that PS3 needed some love," an Ubisoft representative chuckled at the time, though they deliberately avoided using the word "exclusive."

Free Radical co-founder and GoldenEye 007 (N64) veteran David Doak later noted that the game would debut on PlayStation 3 first, but was still being developed for other platforms.

Ubisoft insists Free Radical's FPS won't be coming to the Xbox 360.

Confusion over Haze's exclusivity to the PlayStation 3 arose today following an announcement by Ubisoft that the game had been delayed and would not make its first quarter 2008 release.

"Haze, which was originally scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2007-08, will now be released in fiscal 2008-09," read the Ubisoft release.

Haze has been heavily rumoured to be heading to Xbox 360 in addition to PlayStation 3, and the lack of platform clarification in its latest press release caused the rumour mill to churn once again.

Speaking to VideoGamer.com today a Ubisoft rep has denied the game will be heading to any other platform, reaffirming that Haze remains a PlayStation 3 exclusive - when it will actually hit stores is still to be announced.

Haze 4-player co-op footage

With all of the delays surrounding the Haze title, it’s nice to finally get to see some positive from their camp. Below is a video featuring the gameplay of 4-player co-op mode. The video quality isn’t of the highest quality, but you’re probably aware of how well the game is looking from other gameplay trailers. You'll get a bit more footage of drivable vehicles, as well as gameplay elements throughout the video.

One of the coolest features about this part of the game is the fact that you never have to go back to the main menu to set it up. Just have a buddy pickup the controller and hit start and he’ll immediately be thrown into the game with you. The narrator does mention that this will be available through LAN as well as online.
