Assassin's Creed III

Finished it!Not a bad game overall,A bit depressive though,But it was meant to be like that i guess I mean who would expect a happy ending when the world is ending.(mentioned in previous games too so no spoiler i hope)Will give a Solid 8 especially it's packed with so much side content. It's a Joy for me

Pros:

1)Frontier and weather effects

2)Naval battles

3)and some missions especially those huge battleground ones

4)Connor:- I don't know abou you guys,it's refreshing to see an untamed,Young and a bit Naive person who does mistakes and rectifies them instead of An arrogant one or an elegant charmer

5)Homestead missions :P/>

Cons:

1)No background score. It feels like playing in Void especially in the cities

2)Some really bad Texture popping,Soldiers pop right in front of me at about 10 yards

3)Lock picking :thumbdown:/>

4)A very cumbersome UI and regenerating health.

I wonder how many of you are really hating and how many are hating just because others are doing so.... :fear:/>/

I completely agree with you.Thats what i think too. btw you forgot another thing those children in boston are irritating too.

From the pc screenshots it looks like the colours are washed out.

Gameplay Tips and Tricks Part 2

Fences with gaps in the bottom can be used to lose pursuers. Sprint at the gap and your character will slide under the fence.

When fighting male elk after it's initial charge and the one after that where you stab it once, immediately hit the B button and you can kill it before it runs away for it's next charge.

The swivel cannon has some amazing range and depending on the size of the wave, can shoot through them.

An easy way to kill bears is to ride up to them on your horse. It scares them and they'll run around erratically. Hop off and just run after them and assassinate them. Saves you from having to go through the QTE battle.

You can catch lots of small animals with snares by setting them in a close area and throwing bait in the middle. The small critters are attracted by the bait but home-in on the snares.

As young Connor you can capture the 3 forts on the Frontier. Not only does the early money from the chests help you but they serve as good fast travel points and make navigating the Frontier a lot easier.

You can pseudo keep an enemy's weapon by picking it up and then quick travel some where. You can't actually keep it or add it to your inventory but you can carry it with you and use it.

When running for enemies that can run as fast as you (Jagers), you can dodge their attacks before they can hit you by pressing the button to jump.

For missions that involve chases, if you know the set path your target takes, you can easily take shortcuts and cut them off quickly. Saves you a lot of time and frustration.

When chasing a courier for the thief challenge, it's much easier to poison dart them first and then tackle them. You can do this for targets in chase missions as well. Just make sure you tackle them or whatever before they die.

Easy Crafting Guide

How do I craft things?

Well, you can use trial and error in combining elements, or you can find recipes to know how to make things. I personally recommend recipes. Basically, in the crafting menu, pick a recipe you want to make, and see if you have the needed items to make it. If not, look at what those items are.

Let's say we want to make a barrel, that sounds easy enough. So, we go to recipes, scroll down to materials, and select the barrel recipe. We notice that we need one oak lumber, but we do not have one. So, exit out of the crafting portion, and scroll left to the stockpile. Under the tab that has everything the lumberjacks find, we see oak lumber. Go ahead and buy the lumber from them. Now we can make that barrel.

Some recipes call for things you have to make. Apple cider for instance, requires apples, and one oak barrel. So you'd have to make the barrel you need for it if you don't have one already in your stockpile. Recipes make it all easier, and I suggest following them so you're not wasting time on combinations that don't work.

Where do I find recipes?

Well, there are a few different ways. One of the best is by opening chests in the frontier or in New York. You'll sometimes find a bit of cash to go with it, but in those two places, you'll find recipes galore. You can also get recipes from leveling the artisans in your homestead.

Is it a good idea to / How do I level my artisans?

You level your artisans by completing the homestead missions. Yes, your plot of land is going to become a bit more packed, but it's very very worth it. Completing all the homestead missions when they come out also helps tie you into the main story. Especially before you finish the game. Woah, tangent there. Leveled artisans can make better stuff, and that better stuff can either get you more money, or upgrade Connor.

Make money, is this a good way to make money, why can't I just buy a bank or something?

Well, I like to think that by doing it this way, Ubisoft is trying to say that life in the Colonies in this time was hard. That applies to all things, the war, the gangs, and even making honest money. However, if you know how to go about it, making money gets a little bit simpler. Early on, after completing the early homestead missions, you'll be able to make a fair bit by selling beaver pelts. After all of the missions are done (and maybe a bit before) you can reap in much more by making Sails. Especially if you've built naval convoys.

Wait, upgrading Connor?

Yes sir! Gone are the days of going to umpteen different stores for umpteen different upgrades for your assassin. Now it's all handled by crafting. Very early on you can see a recipe for dual holsters, but lack the means to make it. This is just one of many upgrades that Connor can get, but I'll let you see the different ones. They're in the same menu that the game showed you when it showed you how to make a convoy.

so forts in the frontier act as fast travel stations .. great

*initiate meltdown*

also for money if the whole crafting thing is too much for you like me .....

go find the beavers and skin them .. there are super slow so you can just run around and kill them ... people love their skins ..

Played for an hour:

Excellent graphics

Excellent performance (maxed out, 1080p, 60FPS)

Bit slow start, but it's interesting.

Tried connecting multiplayer - found NIL..Nobody is online.

Grabbed all dlcs (deluxe version), all set for weekend (along with Hitman).

Gtx 570, q6600, 8gb ddr3.

Emboldened is the reason why you are facing performance issues, executables are way too old now. But the processor has soldiered on till now is a great thing.

Also the same is acting as a bottle-neck for the graphics card in my opinion.

Benchmark run -- Intel Core 2 Quad 6600 vs. Intel Core i3 2100 (Sandy-Bridge).
