lol, if me 3 is gonna be another alien shootfest, protecting the earth, blah blah....then let us kiss the game good bye !The only reason I was attracted to the game was the amazing universe it created with so many backstories on each species and the lore associated. They already diluted the series to a very large extent in 2nd part with almost no plot progression, one of the worst end bosses in a video game ever, and now in 3, looks like they are going the halo way. The only thing left is to turn this into a proper FPS....

Recruiting races should be different than ME2's do mission - recruit squad member routine

there seems to be more scope for motivating races, with moral choices built in. saved Rachni queen.. you get Rachni support, simliarly what you did in Wrex's and Tali's missions.. in ME3 choose between Hanar/ Salarians or esp Krogans/ Turians . Obviously some missions around these, but could be varied

^ Yea totally agree with that

If they could add some surprise twists it might get interesting

Like Reapers offering Shepard a chance to join em

Modifying Shepard body with some ancient mineral that increases his power to a point of no return if they wish to end the trilogy.

Anyways just my views, some new story elements would be nice

Update 3:

-You start off with most of your powers from ME2.

-"Shepard can now shoot pieces off of certain enemies to slow them down or reduce their combat effectiveness."

-You can now pick up enemy weapons (assuming they're not melee given the other quotes).

-"We are treating space cinematics and space combat differently and on a bigger scale than ever before."

-Melee attacks play a larger role, with each class having a unique one as well.

- 'Full scale war' feel to the game, about as 'dark' as ME2, though they consider ME2 to be 'sylised' dark or whatever the hell that means, while ME3 will be 'dark' in the sense that there is a huge war and a sense of hopelessness.

This is something I'm happy about. For a game set in space, very rarely did ME/2 give me that grand epic feeling.

- Recruit the races woop woop. Most races dont want to join because they dont want to be ruined by the Reapers. Most races caught up in their own sh*t. EG: Visit Salarian homeworld, they're stuck in a conflict regarding the Genophage. Quarians trying to take back their homeworld. Shepard must try and find a way to resolve these conflicts to get the best support.

:wallbash:

Aforementioned Thresher Maw Vs. Reaper is an example.

My God. :surprise:

- Vehicles will be similar to ME2; not built into the main path of the game, but may return in some form as extras.

I was actually hoping for vehicles.

- Scanning is back but 'wont be at at all like ME2'.

They should've scrapped it. Will decide whether its a good thing when they actually show what they mean.

- They attack New York, London, Japan and others first.

Agree with Neo on this. WTF? Earth is like, the most overused setting in games :P

- ME3 will be more difficult than ME2.

:thumbsup:ME2 on insanity is a completely different game from Normal. Was forced to use tactics and powers much more. Hope ME3 is more like this.

- BioWare want to make a Mass Effect MMO.

I'm not into MMO's, so meh.

..........

Something I'm just not going to believe is the choices thing they keep harping about.

Also, Thank you Pranay for updating us. Repped. :kisstogether:

Not too thrilled with having to recruit individuals/races again.. :|

if you remove the recruitment portion of mass effect 2, the game would be shorter than homefront. i don't think bioware is capable of making a good game without rehashing the old formula.

Mass Effect 3 has New Game+

Mass Effect 3's release still lies in the too-distant future, but that hasn't stopped BioWare talking up what players will be able to do once the main game is finished.

Mass Effect aficionados will remember the first game allowed players to replay the main story campaign in a New Game+ mode once the story was completed, whereas the second Mass Effect simply dropped Shepard and the crew back into the world and allowed you to finish up side-missions and play DLC.

According to executive producer Casey Hudson, Mass Effect 3 will use a mixture of both of these, allowing players to both replay the campaign with extra powers and tie up loose ends.

"It's probably going to be a combination of both," Hudson told US retail mag Game Informer. "We're going to have a version of the post-game state that you can go back to and finish more stuff, but then we'll have stuff you can loop back around and do in new game+. It's a hybrid of the two", he explained.

In the same interview Hudson teased the possibility of an MMO based in the sci-fi universe and detailed a tweaked combat system.

so true :(

recruiting recruiting recruiting...well by the time Shephard gets old, and if someone tells him to fight an enemy, first thing Bioware would want us is to recruit

Bioware Auctioning Off Stuff For Japan Relief

bioware415.jpg

If the thought of donating to charity for Japan relief without getting something in return doesn’t really sit well with you, Bioware have you covered. Literally. They’re auctioning off ten Mass effect hoodies signed by the team and co-founders and at about $100 a pop, those were the cheapest items on offer. There are… other items as well.

While Dragon Age 2 wasn’t exactly stellar, it was good enough to slap on a few consoles, again literally since Bioware is also including a PS3 and an Xbox 360 with a custom Dragon Age 2 paint job in the auction. Just so you’ll have no qualms in reaching for your wallet, seeing as how the asking price was approaching $700 for each when last we spied them, they’re also signed by the Bioware doctors. Helping Japan and netting some swag? You just need to ask yourself one question. What would Anders do?

-The reason that Cerberus is put against us is explained at the beginning of the adventure (could it be because the Alliance gets the Normandy SR2 and technology, and SID, the AI of the ship? This a suppose of mine, not in the magazine)

- Cerberus' troops: mechas, assault units, shock troops ninja-style.

- Reapers: they have different sizes, ranging from 500-600 meters of the smaller ships to the 2km for Herald.

- New skills for Shepard: launched in search of coverage to Max Payne, rolling, jumping small holes in the ground, as the SWAT turn and strike the enemy with greater variety of melee attacks. It specifically mentions "a new class: Heavy Melee" take advantage of these capabilities of combat.

- New skills: Engineer can build turrets.

- Customizable Weapons, guns, sight ... five variants in each section.

- More items to "loot."

- Space Battles? Perhaps, but unconfirmed.

- Scenarios: larger. We will see people walking, ships fighting, architecture in greater detail. Searching for the photorealism of the sites using new lighting techniques on the stage. It has also improved the atmosphere and the number of dynamic elements of the stage, increasing interactivity with the player.

- Locations to visit: New York, London, a moon of ¿Koriana? (maybe they mean Quarian or Krogan) world, a salarian world and Mars, among others. The development of each environment takes about 6 months, testing the levels from the outset.

- Enemies: we can do dynamic damage into them. The Cerberus mechas, for example, requires that we shoot a weak point, the glass cockpit in order to overcome them. In other enemies we can cut off the arms, break the head or break various pieces of their armors.

- Fighting more dynamic, forcing us to move more frequently. The game speed is improved by 10 to 15%.

- Exploration: we won't drive vehicles seen in previous games. The main gameplay is designed without them and will continue so. This does not mean that there is no vehicle, but they can't reveal more now. There is a new scanning system.
