Joy
From last couple of days I'm facing this weird issue of losing internet connection on PS3 while in game suddenly , happens after being online for sometime. I'm using wired connection , MTNL broadband wireless router 450TC1 , the light indicator on the router for the port connection to the ps3 via Ethernet disappears and the same thing happens in the ps3 ethernet post as well , no light. I tried changing ports on the router and even the ethernet cable but didn't solve the issue. Now I don't know what's the problem is it a PS3 issue or something's wrong with the router as this problem is there only with the PS3 , no issues with the PC which is also on wired connection on the same router. Never faced this kinda issue before.. so I'm clueless...... , anyone heard this kinda problem ? I also tried setting up my PS3 wireless but just can't , it picks up my wireless connection while scanning the first time with 100% strength, but second time onwards it gives a msg - " the access point could not be detected " Wireless works fine on other devices , just can't connect it with ps3. Zuko
heh bro, there are a certain things in my mind: a) when you are connected to the internet with the wired connection have you checked network status ????????? on the XMB under Settings > Networks > Network Status... whats the NAT type and is uPNP enabled........ it should be NAT TYPE: 2 and uPNP enabled for smooth connectivity...... also keep mind the ip address allocated to your PC........ i assume there is nothing wrong with the internet connection and the router is not getting disconnected from the ISP ....because at times there is different ip address allocated to the ps3 and it shows limited or restricted connectivity in the "Network Status" section of the ps3... this happens if you are in a habit of switching off your router and then turn it back on only when you need to use the laptop or ps3...ip address is not correctly allocated.... c) can you access the router settings page on your laptop.... when you are connected to the ps3... try not to connect any other devices connected simultaneously except for the ps3... this reduces bandwith allocated to the ps3.....also under "DHCP Client list" you can find out whether the ps3 is connected to the router or not... there should be two devices connected, one your laptop and other the ps3.... d) As for the wireless ............. check the ssid in the router settings........ try changing the name and then again scan ps3 wireless for your router........ Also look at the channel in which the wireless is broadcasted..... this thing depends on location to location... i had similar issues and my router was set on a AUTO channel list... i turned it to manual and selected channel 6 as channel 2 is mostly used by cord-less telephones....and there are issues by the ps3 in picking up wireless at that channel keep us posted.... Joy
Looks like it got fixed by itself , thanks for the help anyway Vineet bro. Maybe it was just a MTNL issue & not a PS3 one which I was suspecting initially.
