arjunsood2003
Take-Two Games just announced that their last year’s success story - BioShock - is all set to re-emerge from the murky depths towards the end of 2009. The game will be developed by the new 2K Marin Studio, which could mean that Ken Levine might not be as big a part of the game, as he was in the original There’s no mention of whether the game will be a prequel or a sequel, or perhaps follow an alternate storyline in the world of Rapture. With such a well-conjured world in their hands, the developer could shape the game around any part of its timeline. We’ll keep you updated as and when we come across details http://www.tech2.com/india/news/games/bios...nounced/31291/

Ne0
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT! no ken levine? I read a long time back (don't remember the link) that the whole team of Bioshock was against Ken Levine. They complained to T2 that unless Ken Levine is removed as head of the team, none of them would work on the sequel ! Try googling, u might hit upon the article.... Ne0
If its back to rapture, it would not be as interesting ! First time when we entered Rapture we were like - 'WoW', it won't be the same the second time. I hope its a new city or better a whole new environment in a different time or something ! lastAvenger
I say they need to now show what raptured really looked like earlier you know when people were around and when stuff was actually working. Although this will not be horror genre but none the less people would appreciate the art work and all.

Tyler
hmm i hope they actually have something good and this is not just a milking of the bioshock success peace I hope so too. BioShock works really well as a standalone game/story. Much of Rapture's past is best left to imagination and I like it that way. I don't really think it's franchise material. But then again, what isn't in this industry? Still if it's anything like the original game, it should be good and I am looking forward to it. Systematic
Tbh I don't think the game is going to leave an impression like the original in any circumstance, unless it's a total revamp all-together. The game could clarify the story and give it a better ending than the original, at best.

nash
There was a rumor a while back that the sequel would actually be a prequel and would grant players a glimpse of Rature in its hay day but as the game progressed the sh*t would basically start hitting the fan. I think that's a pretty cool concept.

I think that's a pretty cool concept. But you already know what happens ! I mean, if they are making prequels, they should take a completely new thread of story, if the story is againa based on Ryan, Fontaine etc, it would not be interesting at all....the sense of suspense is lost ! We all know how Rapture ended the way its currently(in great detail too)....whats the point of playing the whole game then ?
Tyler
I don't really like the concept of prequels either... especially ones that try to explain the backstory in detail. I feel much of the charm of the original work is lost by doing so. Take the Matrix for example. Don't get me wrong I love the whole series including the Animatrix. I remember being completely blown away by the first one. I didn't really care too much about how the machines took over. The explanation given by Morpheus was satisfying enough and most of it was best left to imagination. Then they went ahead and explained it in detail in the Animatrix shorts. I loved them but somehow it killed the experience of the first Matrix for me. Same goes for the Star Wars prequels...
