Guess a lot of awesomeness would be missed by many if it just stays in the TV thread. So here goes..

 

is it even possible to see engines like this from a cockpit?

First, the engine is shown with the wrong perspective.

 

Second thing, birds do not fly so high.

 

Third thing, every one would be dead if a commercial airline would nosedive like that.

 

Fourth, Indian soap operas will never learn.

f**k that, I saw the clown of a co-pilot and knew something terrible was about to happen.

 

And that recovery after one engine just ingested a whole flock of birds, yes, please, I will just pull hard on the flight stick and everything will be fine. No fuel cut, nothing, just pull on that god damn stick and the co-pilot will smile at you and everything is fine. Save maybe the passengers, who survived, now have chronic neck and back issues for the rest of their lives.

 

Also, to answer Kiwi's original question, a pilot (co-pilot) can view their engines but not so well.
