Reached Chapter 5 and this game is f**king awesome. Amazing atmosphere and sound effects. The black bars are big but after an hour or so, I forgot about them. Gameplay is intense, it has that RE4 feel. A must play for anyone who enjoyed RE4 or TLOU gameplay.

Looks and runs pretty good on PS4 IMO. I didn't notice any major frame drops or any other performance issue. Smooth experience so far. Some screens-

Game is not at all difficult. Just play it slow and explore for resources. This is how I killed the first chainsaw guy in Chapter 3 -

Only stealth gameplay looks kinda similar to TLOU...But overall tone and gameplay is quite different :|

^^^ Evil Within logic. His head is already impaled with spikes yet he died after a small knife stab.

RE4 is better than EW in terms of story and character. That ending left me so confused and only the Mikami and his team know what that exactly means and whether there would be a direct sequel or not.

TLOU gets way too much credit because of story and character. Game play wise its not something revolutionary like re4 or anything. And neither is this game, but it's a solid survival horror with amazing atmosphere. Definitely a must but for survival horror fans.

If you only play derpy ez mode shooters then you stay out of this, since like most reviewers you will say clunky controls and not adapt.

All these shooters on the previous gen (ps3-360 era) has ruined gamers, now everybody just wants easy games where you just point in the general area n shoot, n obvsly no game can be had without those magical regenerating health system now :(

Although the story n characters aren't great, n not rly a 9+ game, it's still pretty solid overall, i would give a 8.5, deserves a play-through by RE4 fans.

Yup .... nailed it. This is a game targeted towards a more older generation of gamers. Regardless of scores , I am glad it came out and am enjoying the hell out of it.

Yup this is old school game at its heart, not for mp loving crowd which started gaming from 2007.

Also for people who are liking this twisted world, try Shadows of the damned. One of the most underrated game of last gen.

The Evil Within is new UK number one

FIFA 15 has finally been knocked off the top of the UK charts, but only just – as Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel also does well.

FIFA 15 is still number one in the all formats chart, but for the first time since its release none of its versions occupy the top of the individual formats top 40.

Instead, the PlayStation 4 version of The Evil Within has gone straight to top, offering hope that the survival horror revival will be more than just a flash in the pan. Although Alien Isolation, which generally reviewed better than The Evil Within, saw its second week sales drop by a precipitous 70 per cent.

Not only was the PlayStation 4 version of The Evil Within the best seller but it also accounted for almost half of all sales of the game, at 47 per cent. The Xbox One was at 27 per cent, the Xbox 360 at 11 per cent, and the PlayStation 3 at just 10 per cent.

UK individual formats chart – 18 October

1 (-) The Evil Within (PS4)

2 (1) FIFA 15 (360)

3 (-) Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! (360)

4 (2) FIFA 15 (PS4)

5 (4) FIFA 15 (PS3)

6 (-) The Evil Within (XO)

7 (3) Driveclub (PS4)

8 (7) FIFA 15 (XO)

9 (6) Middle-Earth: Shadow Of Mordor (PS4)

10(8) Forza Horizon 2 (XO)
