Honestly best MMO for me. Massive improvement over beta. Solid gameplay, best PvP (Cyrodiil, oh man! So freaking good), awesome PvE, good combat (so many things changed), massive skill line to learn, more than 2000+ quests (not just go here and there, it's actually quite hard) and best community (very helpful).

All in all, I'm super happy with game. Subscribed for 90 days already.

Can't wait to get back today. ^_^

GW2 looks puny now!

Edit:

You can become vampire and werewolf too (with full new skill line). However this is hard. A vampire or Werewolf should bite you during full moon and they re-spawn very rarely. Can't wait. ^_^

For MP competetive game 1k + hour is understandable . But for SP game like Skyrim 2200 Hour is awesome . I consider Skyrim one of the best game , But got bored after 150 hour .

I got bored faster.

I have similar hours in Witcher 1 and 2 because I replayed those titles at least thrice each.

Also, Dark Souls is not pure single-player, people invade and do PvP as well.

MMO's are always big on PC and time consuming :P

but this monthly subscription is pathetic TBH...

Not many are willing to buy this on PC here

All because of Bugthesda's Pricing.

Bethesda Softworks are greedy bitches .. even Wolfenstein is insanely priced.

now they reduced form 4.8K to 4.3K

Dekhte hai aur kitna kam karege .. ;)

Are you new to MMO?

Bethesda Softworks are greedy bitches .. even Wolfenstein is insanely priced.

It's your country. They don't have production here and importing is always costly.

(other terms, they don't care about Indian market)

Just like all Blizzard-Activision games.

EA did the same with their 4.5K games  after the uproar

In the same way when the so called "Master Race" was up in arms over 3.5K BF4 they got the silent treatment :giggle:

It all depends on the distributor and how much he wants as margin.

In the same way when the so called "Master Race" was up in arms over 3.5K BF4 they got the silent treatment :giggle:

And no one bought the PC game and EA (Game4U actually) ended up reducing the price to ~2500/-, still available.

We gave them the silent treatment.

There are members in the community who play Guild Wars 2. I don't know who you are talking about.

And talking on the point of pricing, here is something I said in the EA price hike thread

They reduced the prices to 999-1499 to gain quantative profits.....selling more copies would bring more money onto the table & they were turning profit

But since the dollar hike their profits are dead....now they have no new strategy to turn it around & are not ready to bare loss until they come up with something

& they can't really go to the normal subsidised price of 2499 coz they loose the quantity profit strategy anyway as not many ppl will buy at that price either & will also make a loss on each copy sold

3499 is the only way they'll get a profit on each copy sold until either INR comes back up or they are ready with a new strategy

Try & understand this point of view

All I'm doing is assuming BTW............

This is not I hate EA rant, I have not bothered about their franchises in quite some time, don't think this changes anything for me but if these are the signs of times changing don't be surprised when your PS 4 / XBox ONE hits Indian shores priced to the tune of ~40000/- -->50000/- and titles come out for ~4000/- and above because.

  • 3 weeks later...

My notebook can't play this game. But I have a friend who has this game and I watched him play. Y'know I made a loooong post to describe what's wrong with this game but its not really worth it. This game is BAD.

Forget comparing this to wow or gw2. There are plenty of f2ps that can deliver more and torment you lesser than ESO does. Bye

Decided just by seeing it? Hmm, bye!

Regarding critics: well people wanted SKYRIM 2 / SKYRIM with friends but they got entire Tamriel with friends. Most of them are completely wrong with their scores and reviews.

Regarding Angry Joe review: Dude, first play the game fully and then review. Puny level 19, not finished the story. Heck he didn't even finish starting zones.

_

So here it goes. You can take it like you want.

My playtime since launch: 12 days, 22 hours (310 hours total)

Rank: Veteran Rank 4

Good stuff:

1. Story - Short and good story. Completing quest lines is extremely rewarding from both a story and physical reward perspective. All the areas you travel perfectly fits with back story and the choices you make 'actually' affects your journey.

2. Living and breathing world. Every character you come across has something to say and share. The world is filled with anchors, bosses, lorebooks, skyshards and exploring everything is actually rewarding. You level up mages guild by reading lorebooks spread across Tamriel, you get 1 skill point for every 3 skyshard you collect. Sometimes you get random quest from a random NPC.

3. Questing - Sheer amount of quests. More than 1500. Not just go here, pick this, report type, but every quest is well written, voice-acted, has own back story and area. Phasing makes it possible to feel impact of your actions. Say you saved some area and next time when you visit, mobs don't attack you (unless you attack first). Extremely well done with question.

4. Combat - This blew me away. This actually turned out to be best combat I've seen. You can unlock anything you want and play like you want. It's not silky smooth but it's very good and pushes you to work harder and kill mobs, rather than just kitting like other MMOs. There are lot of skills to unlock and you can try out everything.

5. Soul World - Vampires and Werewolves. :D Yep, it's in the game and it's not easy. You actually have to work hard, track real time cycle and be there and pray to get bitten. Game allows users to get bitten by Vampire / Werewolf. Once you get bitten, you get new skill line with new set of abilities. Both Vampires and Werewolves have advantages and disadvantages. There are various stages. You have to feed on NPC daily/weekly to keep yourself alive.

6. PvP - Alliance War. Oh boy, what a joy to kill other faction people.

PvP in this game is brilliant. It takes place in Cyrodiil and divided into 3 factions. the Ebonheart Pact, the Daggerfall Covvenant and the Aldmeri Dominion. The map is huge. I mean REALLY HUGE. Imagine GW2 map, now multiply it with 10. Yes, that big the map is. You will need a horse to travel from one keep to another and it takes more than 2 mins.

Main objective of PvP is not just have to capture keeps and defend. It's about the scrolls and Emperor title.

You are fighting for the scroll and power. There are 6 scrolls. Each faction has 2 scrolls placed in their temple during the start of the war. Capturing scrolls give you power in-game (both PvP and PvE). It's really very well done. I'm Aldmeri Dominion Legionary grade I. Took break to finish up PvE.

Emperor - Emperor is the most powerful position you can attain. Receiving this status is the dream of every PvP player, due in part to the special skill line that comes with attaining the position. These skills are unique and make the player extremely powerful while he is the active Emperor. Furthermore, once you've reached Emperor you retain the skill line, even when another player is crowned, but the skills are much less powerful. Gaining this status is not only about giving bonuses to a single person. Each alliance will fight to have an Emperor on their side because of the Alliance-wide bonuses. First of all, there are the bonuses gained for holding keeps. It is impossible to crown an Emperor without capturing all 6 keeps and the alliance receives bonuses for each keep. The Emperor also inspires the warriors around him making them stronger.

Apart of PvP, Cyrodiil also offers PvE content. Yes, PvP has PvE quests, dungeons, world events and lot more to do.

7. Dungeons - each area has 1 group dungeon. Total there are 15 group dungeons in Tamriel and 1 in Coldharbour. Plus, once you hit veteran rank, you get new quests and bosses for these dungeons. Making it completely new. So there are 32 group dungeons. Group dungeons are very well designed. It requires group tactics once you hit veteran rank as it becomes incredibly hard with new bosses and mechanics.

Apart from that, there are lot of caves, public dungeons, mines to explore and each of them are rewarding.

8. Other - Best looking MMO. No competition. Best crafting system. No auction horse crap. Solid community. No more "I slept with your mommy" type comments on /z chat. Being in guild is rewarding (once you claim keep in Tamriel). Guild has own guild store where players can sell their items.

..

Bad stuff:

Every MMO has bad stuff and ESO has it too.

1. Bugs - common. There are lot of bugs. This may annoy you and break your journey. However Zenimax has patched lot of them, but new ones keep popping. Hopefully everything will be fixed before new content update.

2. Bots - same as above. However, things changed yesterday. Once you enter public dungeon, you get system message from GM regarding bots. He asks you to /w the names of the bots camping the boss. Then he pops in as a ghost and wipes them all. Pretty cool thing.

3. Grouping - PvE grouping is kinda dead at the moment. You have to do everything multiple times. Hope they fix it as well.

That's it. These are the only 3 things bad about this game.

I can go on and on. But I know nobody plays MMOs here.

If you are a fan of TES or MMO games, you'll love it. Bugs are always there in MMO and TES without bugs? That will never happen. Good thing is you can fix everything by getting addons (mods).

Last, don't let reviews fool you. They are about "Give me DRAGOOOOONS! SKYRIM! Hehuehehehu" type.
I have lost faith in PC Gamer. The reviewer has NOT finished the game, played only ~30 hours, butches character names and bashes the game for no reason. Absolute shame!
(I'm not lying. You can check their comment section)
Better than GW2? For me, yes. It's ahead of Guild Wars 2 when it comes to world, questing and dungeons.
Rating: I don't put a number for MMO games within a week. I'll update when I'm done with first campaign. I.e after 90 days.
Adios!
