The Elder Scrolls Online

Not sure if serious.

This is 2n era. All 3 factions are fighting for control over the contested Ruby Throne in Cyrodiil.

2E 582 — The Alliance War begins.

Three competing alliances are formed by the nations of Tamriel to defend against the Imperials under Molag Bal's influence. The Aldmeri Dominion, consisting of Summerset Isle, Valenwood, and Elsweyr, seeks to reestablish Elven dominance over Tamriel to protect it from the carelessness of the younger races. The Daggerfall Covenant, consisting of High Rock, Hammerfell, and Orsinium, intends to restore the Second Empire and return peace and stability to Tamriel. The Ebonheart Pact, consisting of Skyrim, Morrowind, and Black Marsh, desires to defeat the Imperials in order to preserve the independence of their homelands

The original Aldmeri Dominion, also known as the First Dominion, was an empire founded by Queen Ayrenn in 2E 582, in the midst of the Interregnum. It was conceived after Ayrenn assumed the throne of Alinor. Having traveled Tamriel extensively before returning to the Summerset Isles, she was aware of the dire threats menacing the world and saw it as the proper duty of the Elves to put things right. At the same time, the Bosmer and Khajiit were facing troubles of their own and in need of allies. Consequently, the Summerset Isles, Valenwood, and Elsweyr joined together to form the Dominion, which warred with the rival Daggerfall Covenant and Ebonheart Pact over possession of Cyrodiil's Ruby Throne and control of Tamriel. The First Dominion's ultimate goal was to usher in a new age of Elven rule across Tamriel in order to protect the land from the careless actions of the younger races.

"It is fortunate for our peoples — indeed, for all the peoples of Tamriel — that the true flame of the Empire of Man still burns in the Daggerfall Covenant. These are terrible times, but our destiny lies before us as straight and true as the Reman roads: we must march on Cyrodiil, overthrow the false empress and all her brood, and restore the Empire of Tamriel. Then once more peace and justice will rule the provinces, rather than blood and fire." — High King Emeric

"The rash actions of those who sit the Ruby Throne, or who pull their strings, have brought Tamriel to the verge of irretrievable doom. They must be scoured from the face of Cyrodiil, and the decaying remains of the Empire of Men must be swept away. It shall be replaced by the Pact, which will enforce peace across the continent and strictly regulate all involvement in dangerous magical pursuits." — Alla Lalleth

The brash young kingdoms of the Covenant want to reestablish the empire of Men. They are too callow and immature to realize that the Empire was a failed experiment whose time has passed. Now is a time of crisis for all of Nirn, and Tamriel cannot afford to have these unlearned barbarians destabilizing Cyrodiil and jeopardizing our efforts to stave off world-destroying doom.

The Ebonheart Pact will not allow the Daggerfall Covenant to establish another bloody-handed dynasty of Imperial tyrants. Time and again throughout history, armies of men have marched in from the rim of Tamriel to conquer its center, enjoying a brief moment of power before sliding into inevitable discord and decay. It's time to break this destructive cycle once and for all. We need to defeat the armies of the Covenant, depose their kings, and bring their chastened successors into a new Tamriel Pact, where wiser heads shall prevail.

tl;dr:

  • The Dominion was formed in an attempt to take control of the Imperial City and restore Elven rule to Tamriel.
  • The Covenant saw itself as the successor to the Reman Dynasty and aimed to restore the Second Empire with the legitimacy to rule all of Tamriel.
  • Pact - The Tribunal became aware of dark happenings in Cyrodiil, and called upon its allies to mount a righteous war against the corrupt and disintegrating Empire.
They are not friends to play with each other.

Only Imperials are neutral and hence allowed to play in any faction.

Know your lore.

1. You can travel to other faction zones only when you finish you main story.

2. You hit level 50 when you finish your faction and story.

3. You want level 50 to roam in level 1 zones of other faction just to see other faction players?

4. You get new instance with veteran mobs. V1-V10.

Angry Boogie! :P

Hey guys, boogie2988 here. I'm the guy in the video and as well as the guy in the francis one. I don't know if me posting here will be welcome but I wanted to take that risk.

As was mentioned before, my character francis just parrots popular opinion. I created this video with this subreddit in mind, almost entirely in the hopes you'd see it after seeing the Francis one <3

allow me to summarize my thoughts:

I feel that The Elder Scrolls Online is just pretty par for the course for new mmo's. I don't think its bad, I don't think its good. I think its worse than world of warcraft, but better than others. I think it doesnt live up to the hype (which it had NO chance of doing) but it also falls short of what I consider to be 'decent standard'. It needs to at least meet or come close to the standards that WoW have set.

That said, its not a bad first try at an MMO and if people stay subbed and continue to support the game then I hope it can become the game everyone wanted it to be.

But like I said at the end of the video, don't take my opinion, or joe's or anyone elses. Love what you love. If you're having fun with the game, I encourage you to enjoy it and spread the word :)

I hope that this game rises above its current state and becomes the legendary MMO it was hyped to be. As it is right now, its almost on par with WoW and certainly on par with others like GW2. It doesnt have far to go before its 'good'. :)

but that's just one man's opinion and it should never challenge or damage yours <3

Item duplicate bug devastates Elder Scrolls Online economy

A bug that allows players to make duplicates of items has hit The Elder Scrolls Online, and it’s reportedly having a devastating effect on the economy of the MMO.

Apparently the bug has been known to certain players since the game’s launch, meaning that some are already walking around in full sets of ‘Legendary’ armour. “Gold is already worthless after a week,” states one Reddit user, in a thread discussing the impact of the bug.

The bug is explained in detail in this video, and appears to be easy enough to perform that it’s even within reason that players could accidentally pull it off.

The issue is particularly damaging, due to the bug being taken advantage of for close to a fortnight. Although a blanket ban will help to clear out the cheaters, it appears that the damage to the economy has already been done. There are also players that have not themselves been duplicating items, but instead taken full advantage of the low cost materials to produce some of the best armour in the game.

In particular, the availability of the best weapons and armour to the minority of players could have a huge impact on the player vs player combat. The players will “be out in pvp and will likely be our Emporers in Cyrodiil for months and months to come,” predicts another post.

It is not yet known exactly how Zenimax will be going about resolving this issue, but it’s clear that they’ll have their work cut out for them. The bug has been addressed by temporarily disabling the guild banks, which means the bug is no longer possible.

The patch notes for 1.0.4 also appear to include a fix for the bug itself, but this is only the first step in a long, difficult process for the MMO devs. Many players have been discussing the possibility of a full server reset, which could have a hugely negative effect on player numbers.

From Reddit

sh*t, this bug has existed since the first invitation alpha.

I saw it mentioned in the forums during every single test I've been in and they never fixed it.

The alliance and horde aren't friends either. And yet they can see each other while playing. And they could in 2004 as well. And yes, level 50 characters can go to level 1 areas because it's a massively multiplayer game. Bringing up lore as an excuse for the co-op only design is pretty weak.

Tamriel Unlimited is coming to PC and Mac as well. All existing PC or Mac accounts will be updated to the Tamriel Unlimited edition on March 17, free of charge.

^^UPDATE: Elder Scrolls Online doesn't require a CD key on PS4 & Xbox One, Bethesda clarifies

Players can trade it in after all.

UPDATE: A Bethesda representative has told VideoGamer.com that the PS4 and Xbox One versions of The Elder Scrolls Online do not require a CD key to play after all, and that the publisher's original forum post was incorrect.

"The physical console version of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited does not require a one-time game code, as with any other boxed PS4 / Xbox One game only the game disc is needed for verification," Bethesda said in a statement this afternoon. "Any previous statements counter to this were incorrect."

Players will be able to trade the game in, the representative added.
