So, i played an "ahem" copy of the game to check how well it works for my hardware. For starters, i'm getting around 37-40 fps on med-low settings. Its kinda playable but honestly it ain't worth playing on those settings. It crashed once for me which is i believe one of many crashes i'm going to see if i continue playing. Started with street cred to see how much it would lag in the city on my hardware.

As for the game, there is a lot of hustle and bustle on the street but still it feels very lifeless. Maybe cause i'm too early in the game so lot of stuff is locked for me. I felt gunplay to be terrible but at this point i don't think that can be fixed. Same goes for the driving. Game does have lot of exposition similar to TW3.

If i need to keep playing this i need a slight GPU upgrade like a 1080ti atleast. Also, the bugs need to be ironed out soon. So, i rather try it after some months and sell my copy for now.

Lol no, it's much easier with video since you can buffer video streams, you can't buffer gameplay, more than the bandwidth, I guess you need the latency to be really low to actually enjoy !

Good point, totally forgot about latency :D

He also says that "Series S sits alongside Series X - think of it like 2.5 best. Lower res but pretty solid."

At this rate, the theory that XSS will pull XSX/PS5 down will soon prove to be incorrect.

Similar story will get repeated once this gen matures.

On paper, even one x>series s

Every component of XSS is better than X1X. CPU and SSD of XSS are miles better than X1X.

With GPU, X1X has 6TF of last gen architecture while XSS has 4TF of next gen architecture. 1TF of next gen architecture performs much better than 1TF of last gen architecture.

So on paper overall XSS > X1X

As long as you stand in a corner and watch the world, it looks believable. But the moment you start interacting, it feels very lifeless. CDPR should have gone for a linear/semi open-world approach. Then again they made Witcher 3, so I don't know where things went wrong.

There are some NPCs which have scripted moments/interaction but majority are just there to fill the world.

(running into those once in a while is nice)

It doesn't even needs interaction but need 100% requires awareness. Without any awareness they all feel like zombie walking around (even zombies have awareness but I can't find worse).

The even worse part is, NPCs around have lines but interaction doesn't trigger properly. They have lines like "spare change" but you can't interact and the npc will repeat same line later... Talk option is barely talk. It just shows a line of text without any interaction from you. The lines also don't match what you are doing (again, no AI awareness).

The game plays fine as linear/story driven if you ignore everything and would actually worked better as 20-25 hour game instead of going open world.

Actually with this cross gen thingy, MS has confused everybody. Screenshot_20201216-195509746 (1).jpg
