The problem is because of the last gen mid refresh and base consoles debacle is a shitshow some people declared overall game quality is bad by looking at the humor/meme videos. After playing for 35 hours i can say CDPR have put a massive effort in making night city.

The game has crafting, weapons, armors, mods to customize gear. There are attributes, levels, perks, sub category skills, hacking and cyberware.

There are many ways to play this game you can go stealth or full gun blazing, hack weapons of enemies like bots, turrents to work for you. Tons of weapons to choose from, some are very unique ones and each has different type power, tech, smart. All has it's own stats and gunplay changes which helps approaching the mission.

Exploring gets never old and they are rewarding as well. Plenty of things to do. Side quests, radiant quests, police cases and random events and ofcourse main missions. The world is beautifully crafted. I'm 35 hours in and still at the first mission after prologue. Been doing tons of other quests.

But nobody talks these. All they have to show is how few random different people have witnessed bugs and diss the game.

There are millions of copies sold and playing right now with ease.

Complete act 1 story missions, that opens up more gigs and side jobs.

Also every other side quest mr. robot will appear and randomly start giving his unsolicited "advice"

I'm in Act 2 now and actually liking the gameplay. There is really a very healthy amount of work that the developers have put in for the sheer number of side quests... so many of them to do! Sad that bugs plague this game but on the PC version it's stable for now. I have decreased the ped density as Joe suggested and that also went towards bettering performance on my RX 480.

Overall I'm a enjoying the game quite a bit now. Also, more than cars... love riding bikes in the game.

@Joe Cool: I wanted to ask you... those car side jobs, are they worth doing because I mostly use bikes or quick travel to get around the city. Those car side jobs are just about buying a vehicle or do they open some other side missions along with it?

I'm playing on PC and I'm liking it quite a bit. I don't need to refund, the game is running very well for me. The game is great, my stealth combat build is absolutely fun, main story is really good.

But I will tell this - this game would have been far better as either a linear game, or an open world like Witcher (i.e. big World not limited to one city). As the only hub - Night City fails. The "Cyberpunk" aspect is only a window dressing. This game could have been set in any period which has cars and hacks available (Modern, Cyberpunk or Sci-Fi) and it would have made no difference. Other games set in cities have so much stuff to do over Cyberpunk 2077 - it's not even funny. Take any GTA Game, any Yakuza Game, Sleeping Dogs, Shenmue - all have so much content that the city feels really alive, and makes Night City look like a bad joke. Also why Cyberpunk? You really don't have much "Cyberpunk" stuff here. No character re-customization, car customization, flying cars and other staples of the genre. Just the city looks neon, that's about it.

Is the game bad? No, it's great. But it seems CDPR does not know how to do cities/settlements well. Flotsam in Witcher 2 and Novigrad in Witcher 3 - both were the worst parts of their respective games. But at least they had other places to explore. Unfortunately, CDPR made an entire game only on a city (Night City) which was not their area of competence it seems.

Also, their broken promises really did not help. Why the heck does origin not matter at all beyond prologue (Other than random NPC Dialogue)? Also, it seems very limited choices. Nothing like the Witcher 3. Am almost on Act 2 and I've not yet seen any writing on the quality of Tower of Mice/Bloody Baron/Hearts of Stone etc. still. Which also does not help. It's a great game, but definitely not something worth 8 year wait. Definitely will take Witcher over this any day.

All additional things you say can be most likely added in a patch or as free DLC, but you are still right that it is not exactly "cyberpunk", Deus Ex Mankind Divided was more cyberpunk than this, even though that had a shameless cliffhanger ending and gameplay design forced you into using stealth/naan-vilence, It was more cyberpunk both in terms of lore and the actual "augmentations" you get, in this barely you have mantis blades, some monowire thing and the rocket launcher cyberware, nothing else has an effect on combat or gameplay.

We didn't got character re-customization, vehicle and even V's apartment needed some customisation options, that's a bummer. But for me i didn't have time to do all those. It sure extend the gameplay elements but we have enough of others like ripperdocs, cyberwares, buying different vehicles.

We all knew CDPR have less to no sense how to make a city more livelier. Like you can speak to random NPCs and sudden small random events like we see in rockstar games. Even GTA V was bland but gets a greenpass because it's a 7th gen game.

Origins only matter at prologue, then everything gets merged. Some of the dialogues are different and maybe have different mission approach that players haven't explored yet.

Side quests are not at W3 level but they are not bad either in any sense. I've seen some weird side quests which only would happen in far future.

Realistically we might not be able to see all this in our timeline. Kudos to the game which gave us a small picture how the future is going to be. :samui:

Saw a few videos running PS4 version with 1.04, there is definitely "some" improvement. Nothing drastic but image quality looks little sharper. Guess crashes would be much lesser.

Just 10 more days of delay on console, versions would have saved their reputation big time.

CDPR studio head liking these tweets. Dude is absolutely salty that his game got delisted from PSN

No way. Flat out lies. I played Avengers on base PS4 and it crashed 0 times for me. There was just bug only once in my complete playthrough. That game got heat for the lack of endgame content otherwise it was far far more stable than this shitshow of cyberpunk.

ppl who've the game and are able to play without a hitch are busy playing it, ppl who have it and aren't able to play look at them and rant on social media mainly out of frustration of paying and unable to play the game.  Ppl who haven't bought it, think they are smart for not buying it and join the latter group in supporting the rant (although its more of a case of sour grapes for them really :P )

You forgot to add a fourth category - People who bought it, are playing it without a hitch (on PC) and still complaining about it (sometimes) because of broken promises and the seeing all the massive potential of what it could have become wasted.

thats always there in every game dude.  Ppl complained on the lack of checkpoints in GTA 4, on the slowness of characters in RDR 2 etc., although both of these are highly rated games.  There's always scope for improvement, that's why we've sequels :P

I would agree with you. But around 5 weeks of Night City Wire - Chest Thumping that all choices are going to make a massive difference; origin will be a major factor that will completely change your story and will require 3 play-throughs; Night City would be the ultimate Cyberpunk with really innovative cars and weapons and lot more. All this after coming straight from Witcher 3.

Look, I understood that there was no way CP will ever meet the expectations. On PC, game would have been excusable. But why did CDPR feel the need to come out and lie for around 5 weeks straight just before the release of the game? That's the hard part man :(

Nope, Skyrim PS3 digital version doesn't exist.

I clearly remember seeing digital version back when it was released. DLCs were planned to release but in the end Bethesda decided not to release DLC after they told users they can't fix the game.

I think digital version was pulled after Special edition was released on ps4. I clearly remember seeing advertisement of Skyrim on ps3 storefront.

Now i just see special edition on ps4
