Graphics wise, the game is at a whole new level on PC. I'm mesmerized at how awesome the visuals are at some places, I keep stopping every now and then, sometimes even in the middle of quests, to take in the visuals.  There are few quests where V goes to rooftops of some buildings and the draw distances are so good ! Visually, I don't think there's any game, as of now,  that's as good as this one.  Feels like a real next gen game, graphics wise.

Also, I've only have a 2k monitor sans HDR.  Can only imagine how awesome it would look on a 4k 55" oled with a 3090

CDPR stock has lost more than 50% of its mkt value since the launch of CP2077, wouldn't really say its been good for them. They have made money on the game, thats true, but they have lost quite a bit of momentum. This game had the potential of putting them right up there with Rockstar, and could have been the perfect cash cow for the next 6 years or so until GTA 6 Online would come out (people are getting tired of GTA V online and red dead online, they want something new). But they f**ked it up. Unless they massively improve the game, i think it woudl be a mistake to launch it online, also any online game needs to have a huge install base for the economics to make sense, a good launch for the game would have made that happen, but even though there are numbers for this game, they arent big enough numbers.

All is not lost though, CDPR can still fix this mess, they need to a soft relaunch on next gen consoles within 6- 8 months. And that needs to be a true next gen experience.. Superb graphics, all major issues fixed and much smarter AI. If they can get that right, then they might get the numbers to launch an online game. My money is on them not doing it. I think it will turn out to more Anthem than No Mans Sky.

They have to fix it.

It is the only way people will get excited about Witcher 4 or any other future game.

Their reputation is at rockbottom. Even if they released Witcher 4 trailer, they will get laughed out of the room.

They need to give it 1-2 yrs of development time and launch proper next gen versions.

CDPR did release the game unfinished due to pressure from investors and stuffs. That's how stuffs goes in industry.

The backlash was just unprecedented though. Comes with the hype I guess.

I can tell you this, delays do not bother investors as much as bad-PR does.

They had a small window of generation overlap. they felt greedy, they hid the true state of the game from just everyone.

They and only them, are responsible for clusterfk they have. Its just that Keeanu is a sweet guy, any other celeb would've sued the fk outta them.

I think there is a huge audience which is feeling depravity because there is no good open-world game like GTA from long time.

And then you throw in Ray-tracing and stuff which makes PC gamers go gaga over some over the top GFX effects they spent 3000$ for, they will buy just anything,

Rockstar will sh*t over these folks with VI.

I'd love it if R* just make a cyberpunk-themed DLC or something for GTA 6, just to mess with these guys and show them how it's done!

Put this stupid studio out of their misery.

Actually, even CDPR must be secretly wishing for that, that a new city-based open-world game from R* will help everyone forget about 2077.

We at Rockstar games have tremendous respect for CDPR. sh*t could happen, and we understand why it happened. And most of the Rockstar people still thinks CP2077 is an amazing game. We even talked about it for months...bugs aside, their goal and what they achieved with nowhere near experience with Modern City Open world games, are actually commendable. And it was a great learning step for them. Can't wait for their next projects or DLCs.

Also, just a secret I'm just letting you guys know.... devs don't tell gamers that during EVERY game development phase many game mechanics do get cancelled. It's just CDPR made a mistake of telling the world about the mechanics they thought they could come up with, which didn't come into fruition due to numerous reason in development cycle (Happens with all the projects in the industry, gamers just don't know because Devs dont reveal them...problem could be time and budget constraints, incompatibility with existing mechanisms to even straight up breaking the game).

So it's quite unproductive to passionately diss them or any studio for that matter. If you don't like them, move on. People learns from their failures.

I think they deserve a second chance. They did bite off more than they can chew and ended up in this mess.

It shows gross mismanagement on their part and a complete lack of accountability on the hype they created. However I believe they are a talented studio and can release some awesome games. We forget that CP2077 is their first game which they worked on from scratch and they either severely underestimated the work involved or overestimated their capabilities.

I was initially pissed off but they did refund the money so all good. I will still support them but I hope they learn from this and come back stronger like Sean Murray's team.

They don't care, they got the money, made the investors happy, now they will lie low and then get the lemmings hyped for The Bitcher 4 next.

I really wish they would give us atleast two proper expansion DLCs atleast, but probably they don't see a "point" behind it.

I love this cyberpunk genre, wish there was more AAA content, like we probably won't get a new Deus Ex now either :\

Lol, its not so simple.

Launch sales are not the only thing that matters, especially for open world AAAA games such as this, GTA5, RDR, etc. This is not an annualized entry and if this game was received well (without the bugs, controversy, etc.) it would still be selling big numbers. The potential loss of revenue due to what happened is huge and that matters a lot.

Deserve maybe but the gaming press must be absolutely held accountable for this. Most of these guys played the pc version and either posted it as a console version review or outright hid that fact. Also, if they had scored witcher 3 appropriately for the kind of buggy mess, dated combat and performance it had on launch cdpr would have never launched the console version in this state but everyone put them on a pedestal as the next rockstar or ND.

CDPR was insanely overvalued anyway. Went from $2B to $8B (more than Ubisoft) in just three years without any new games, just based off of hype and fake promises. The bubble was going to burst regardless.

Whatever it is, as of now they don't seem to be taking "support" of this game seriously beyond the bare minimum performance patches, maybe those sales from PSN by thirsty PS4 owners are flowing in( Game is #1 on PSN apparently? ), that's why.

I don't expect an NMS style comeback tbh.

You will get your PS5 and Xsx upgrade patches I think, i.e next-gen version, maybe on par with PC top tier graphics settings, idk.

C'mon mate thats a bit harsh. Consider the size of the teams at Rockstar and the team of CDPR and the difference in experience levels. Also consider this, its a lot more beneficial for gamers if multiple large AAA capacity studios exist and are profitable than if its highly concentrated among a few large studios. With multiple studios, you are likely to keep getting new releases much more frequently. If Rockstar was the only studio capable of making such a large open world game, do you think they would bother with GTA 6 for another 5 to 6 years?

Also I kept telling myself that i would just play a little bit of CP2077 and wait for the PS5 upgrade. i ended up putting in like 30 hours or so. Game crashed about 7 times. and graphics on PS5 were sh*t, but they really got the feel and the environment right for the game. CDPR set out to do something ambitious, they failed but they achieved a lot. If they bounce back from all the scandals that happened afterwards and keep their nose clean, i would be very interested to see what they come up with next. CDPR stock is probably undervalued right now.

Maybe few SPOILERS AHEAD on the game so stop reading.. I think the quests were well designed. I wish they had put more effort into random events, those felt very shallow. I really liked the concept of the braindances and dollhouses and the extreme versions of those.. some next level dystopian sh*t that was. And Although I am quite familiar with the cyberpunk genre, and had enjoyed reading Neuromancer many years ago and I love Blade Runner, I had never played the tabletop RPG game that CP2077 is based on, and I was reading about it online. And I must say, they have adapted the game VERY WELL and have kept all the major themes from the tabletop top game intact.

All in all I see this as a massive missed opportunity for CDPR, they could have created an experience that would have lasted the rest of this generation of consoles, but they f**ked it up due to equal parts greed and stupidity.

AAA Devs like CDPR have years between games and initial launch sales are not the only thing that matters. They could have released some DLCs and keep the money coming but that's down the drain now.

I have to agree with this. Press is responsible for the hype as well along with CDPR.
