Tried this and uninstalled. Maybe will try later some day. Game felt boring, it just started with open world to explore and quests around. I did few missions in order to see if missions get interesting but it's pretty generic. I think they tried to make futuristic GTA, which is fine for them since GTA is a hit series but I get super bored with no narrative games.

Gunplay seemed fun from trailers but sponge human enemies and weak shooting (felt weak) put me off. I also don't like gta style car traversal, throw people out and hijack the car. Not much for me.

Visually and technically the game looked pretty solid especially the light works. Never seen a game before with this much detail and emphasis on lightening and texture. Combine this with open world and it's a pretty impressive feat. Game giving you choices early was also nice.

Another thing that felt good was so the arsenal and RPG mechanics but I felt overwhelmed with all the stuff and couldn't really figure out what does what. I am willing to learn all this if the game itself is interesting, but I felt I can spend time playing something else.

This is nothing like gta, this is a proper rpg and you’ll start enjoying the game once you play it like one.  If you don’t like cars you can use fast travel/subway. Also, forget gunplay, the true beauty of the game is in netrunner builds.  I hated the game when I played at launch, but after their 2.1 release, it has improved substantially.  I’m in the middle of my 3rd play through with phantom Liberty and already invested almost 200 hours in the game.  Plan to get back to it once I complete some of the gamepass games!

Game is amazing. Keep playing it gets really good and its proper RPG with branching storyline, its nothing like GTA.

i loved the gameplay and side stories. The main story was a complete disappointment, so few pre-rendered cut scenes made immersion very difficult.

City felt dead

Did you do the green icon missions or the yellow icon missions?

The yellow ones are actual side quests. The green ones are just filler. They should have deleted those tbh. Only the DLC has good green quests.

Finished.

133 hrs total.

DLC + Base Game + all side quests (around 60 percent gigs but not all)

Tried out all the endings too. IMO Panam ending is the best. Didnt know about the secret one. Only saw it later on YT.

The DLC is really amazing. One of the best content pieces of all time. The choices you have to make are also heartbreaking in their own way.

Started this.

Excellent dialogues, voice acting and dialogue choices. The characters are excellent till now especially Jackie.

Gunplay is pretty good too. First few missions are very good.

Night city looks absolute sh*t in day light. Its so cramped and poorly designed. Driving around a car is a big no here. Cars should be banned here.

At night while walking its absolutely gorgeous and looks smashing.

Braindance is so bad, like one of the worst ideas ever. Who approved it? Absolutely non sense stuff.

Heartbreaking ending to that Relic mission :(

Will play story missions only. City is absolutely dead and poorly designed. Terribly disappointed with the world coming from Witcher devs.

How else do you think cities will look 50 years from now considering the rapid urbanisation and over population ? It’s a brilliant design aiming for dense verticality instead of wide open areas. Surprised to hear that people here are having trouble driving in this game, I had no issues driving cars or bikes, they handle surprisingly well.  I think there would be a setting somewhere to reduce population density, just check it out.

The city & ambiance is quite nice & unique.

Obviously the level of detail in modern GTA games is missing but expecting that from another game by another studio is not feasible.

Gameplay is OK & things are still quite clunky & glitchy from a non RPG standard.

It’s not RPG nor a Sandbox Linear game….somewhere in the middle.

Overall it’s quite an engaging experience so far but it might get tedious if you want to explore all character upgrade options as the grind would be real & the side quests aren’t that great.

Let’s see if I’m able to upgrade character & enjoy as much as I want to.

Every acceleration you are hitting something or into someone. There is no space to drive. Proper Cars shouldn't be an option here.

For me city doesn't work at all. There is no flow nor anything stands out. Everything looks same and dull and boring.

I think you’re in early parts of the game, give it time, the city is quite good, it grows on you….btw, it also has open highways and deserts.

When I played I was blown away by the verticality and the density , especially the place near the delamain hq, and those mega buildings and Asian towns.

Only gripe is that the world is not interactive like rdr/gta games, it just sits there like a wallpaper.  Hope they improve on that in the sequel.

I doubt there will be a sequel. GTA6 comes out next year which will rule for next 10 years in open world design. Thier chance was this only. Don't think they can match GT6 level anyways.

I think CDPR should make AAA Single player games only. Every 5 year a new game. Story, cutscenes with gripping narative with decent gameplay is there USP. By god some side stories in Witcher 3 were better than most games.

There’s already a sequel in works.  Converting this to a linear game won’t work at all imo.  They need to up the interactivity, need not be as good as GTA just have more side activities and fun stuff.

Also, cp 2077 >>>> w3 in both side and main quests, especially now with an the patches in.  One needs to be a bit open minded and play it like a proper rpg instead of running thru the main quest like it’s fps clone of halo/cod.  I found that the best build is netrunner, but there’re so many combos of builds and ways to play the game/approach every quest.

All this talk makes me wanna replay the game, had left it at the third playthrough in the middle of phantom liberty!

Late to the party but about to start this soon, just bought it on Steam.

Will play with a controller cause I'm bad with a KB+M (and used to a console lol). Any good controller recommendations except the DS?

I find that Xbox controllers are always the best for pc games
