Splinter cell: Blacklist

Splinter Blacklist's new Perfectionists Difficulty for hardcore fans-

Splinter Cell Blacklist’s Perfectionist difficulty will punish even
the most talented of franchise purists. While the traditional challenge
of hard mode presents adept AI that demand Sam Fisher think carefully
about his next stealthy step, Perfectionist puts him at an even more
familiar disadvantage:

  • Enemies deny melee attacks from the front.
  • Sam’s goggles don’t see through walls.
  • Mark and Execute doesn’t work.

Much of what we’ve been trained to expect by Conviction vanishes when
playing Perfectionist – delightfully so for series veterans. Suddenly,
Blacklist slows down, becomes more methodical, and makes players
consider how they approach each locomotive infiltration. Or, at least it
does when Fisher learns important lessons the hard way.

Perfectionist isn’t for everyone, but it’s one of many options in
Splinter Cell Blacklist that help it define its distinct identity within
the franchise. Yes, it draws on Conviction. Yes, it draws on Chaos
Theory. Blacklist meets somewhere in the middle, dragging classic
Splinter Cell into a modern era more so than falling back on its old
ways.

What separates Blacklist most is the Paladin, Sam Fisher’s aerial
base of operations and the home of his newly founded Fourth Echelon
agency. Paladin is the excuse for spreading Splinter Cell missions
across the world, but it serves another purpose. This is where you’ll
talk to crew members, learn more about the threats of a terrorist cell
called The Engineers, and take on Blacklist’s substantial number of side
missions. Each key player in Fisher’s life offers additional
objectives, all of which support the mainline story or the upgrades each
character offers. Charlie Cole, for instance, is a hacker who helps
with Sam’s gadgets. Do a favor or two and you’ll be well on your way to
better gear. On the other hand, Sam’s most trusted advisor, Anna
Grimsdottir, manages The Paladin’s well-being; buying improvements from
Grim gives Sam an advantage in the field, such as adding radar. Exactly
what these characters’ side missions entail remains a bit of a mystery,
like a lot of Splinter Cell Blacklist’s extracurricular content.

Rumor: Splinter Cell: Blacklist heading to Wii U

Splinter Cell: Blacklist appears to be heading to Wii U. A listing on the LinkedIn profile of a line designer indicates that Ubisoft will be bringing the game to Nintendo’s console.

Prior to Blacklist’s unveiling, the game was rumored to be coming to Wii U. Ubisoft’s official announcement seemed to debunk the speculation, but the company has already proven willing to confirm a Wii U version of its projects long after they’ve been revealed (like Watch Dogs).

I lost trust of this franchise from conviction..it shattered my hopes...hated the mark and execute so much that i promised myself never to buy another SC..

But those times are past now..so is the mark and execute also compulsory in this game..

It would be great if there is an infiltration type aspect in the game as in SC:Double agent, personally loved it more than chaos theory..

They are stating that at PURIST difficulty mechanics like Mark and Execute shall be unavailable.

I doubt there will be infiltration because it is back to the one dimensional story of America (and White interests) vs. current generation stereotyped enemies (Jihadi, Arab with a covered face).

Agreed Double Agent introduced a lot of new elements into the game world but Chaos Theory was the epitome of the series, all the mechanics that were integral to a stealthy agent of sabotage and subterfuge were in the game and appropriately used. There was no morality included because these games are worse off because of such elements (in my opinion).

Loved CT also a lot..the story was just mindblowing and thrilling..the gameplay was quite hard as it should be..2 alarms and u are dead..man i miss those days.. :samui:

So many new games nowadays, newbies running after "graphics this, graphics that"..that thrilling effect that used to be in the games are missing nowadays...

Anyway i am actually a fan of this infiltration thing so loved it a lot..the "trust meter" was one of the most innovative thing ever introduced at that time...just loved the concept.. :walkman:

Kinda sad that according to the devs ghosting means he still had to knock out half a dozen guards. If you are doing that then there is no difference between killing someone and knocking them out. Ghosting should be no contact.

Still, admittedly it looks more SC than Conviction. But then again, thats not really an achievement. :/

There are 3 things that this game needs to get right

1)Interrogations(Need to be witty)

2)Option to turn off those button prompts.Way too many of them.

3)Some button to adjust sam's speed from slow to fast(used to be middle mouse button)

Agreed. Still remember Sam offering a shave to the first dude in Chaos Theory whilst interrogation.

3)Some button to adjust sam's speed from slow to fast(used to be middle mouse button)

Agreed on these two points as well and while we are at it please junk the direct attack mode. Enemies seemed useless. They could not flank one guy.
