Finished this. Pretty fun game. There's only one real problem with it which is that you will have to do a lot of backtracking because your party doesn't move together. You have to individually move each character around. So if you go from one place to the next with one character, you have to switch back to the second one and run all the way again, and then switch back to the third one and run all the way there again. This gets old really quick. It's literally padding out the game's length because they didn't want to implement basic AI routines. Something like Trine would have been perfect.

Other than that, the game is very nice. You have to choose a party of 3 from a selection of 7 characters. Each of characters will have a separate section of puzzles to solve inside the cave which means there's replay value after finishing it once. The actual game consists of descending a cave and solving various puzzles to continue the journey. There's light platforming but at it's core it's an adventure game. Some of the puzzles are really well thought out, especially one I played that involved time traveling where you could send different characters to different points in time and the action of one of them in the past would change something in the future. The trademark Ron Gilbert humor is present in spades with tons of references to pop culture and his past works that will make you smile.

Game is best played in local co-op where different people will control different characters and that will negate the monotony of backtracking. My first playthrough took me just under 5 hours but the next ones will be shorter because I know the solution to a few of the puzzles that will repeat. Still, for a game that can be played at least twice with fairly unique experiences, this is pretty good value for money.

Random final note - Ron Gilbert tweeted today that the size of the shortcut icon file of this game on the Mac is larger than the entire Maniac Mansion game from back in 1991 or so :P
