You can get some discount using specific bank cards on Tatacliq (ICICI generally has it every weekend. 10% off).

Thanks for the tip.

I think there was someone selling a code, you can put up a WTB thread. Some people may have bought extra during the sale.

Usually the sale price repeats again for Black Friday.

Another question: I plan on going as digital as possible [with only the occasional disc or two] so...  how do most people go wholly digital?  Do you make multiple accounts for different regions and buy stuff from each store depending on what's cheaper? Or is India's store for PSN the best overall? I've seen recommendations that the US PSN has the best sales deals and it's best to make a US account and buy stuff from there.  But from what I've seen:

- PS+ is 2999 for a year in India vs ~4400 for the US one

- Games like Spiderman which need an upgrade seem to cost less here? ~1000 vs ~1500 if using a US PS account

- Even games like Persona 5 Royal seems to be cheaper here. 1500 vs ~2000 on the US PS store [during this sale].

- PSN US cards have markup [ [I was checking on prepaidgamercard and there's a markup ranging from 10-25 percent depending on the gift card] so whatever potential savings one would have from the US region are sort of negated by this?

Am I missing something? It seems like PSN deals in India are better overall? You just make one account and all your purchases are under one account, rather than having them spread across multiple accounts

Also, if I have PS+ on my Indian account, I can't take advantage of it to grab the discounted PS+ price for a US account right? I'd need to purchase PS+ for the other account as well.

The days of US PS being better are long gone. With regional pricing, it's just better to get Indian PSN now. Cheaper PS+, and discounts are generally applied to both PSN shops.

I was under the impression that PSN doesn't have regional pricing? To stop people from abusing switching regions to get cheaper games.

In any case, that's good to hear. I guess I'll just go ahead with an Indian PSN account and buy PS+  as well as all games from there. It'll be good to have all my games under one account too.

This. PS+ pricing is best example, regional pricing for the win!

Ps region switching won't work like xbox or switch. You need different accounts for each region and also need to top up wallet for that specific region because most of the credit cards of one region won't work with another region.

Right but I guess this is a moot point for me since I'm starting fresh. Indian PSN account with PS+ seems the way to go.

Yes you cannot take advantage of discounted ps plus prices on another account . Benefits of PS plus you can share with other non PS plus accounts on your console are

1)Play online multiplayer

2)Play downloaded games, including those purchased with a PS Plus discount

3)Download and play the monthly PS Plus games included with the subscription

Prices keeps on changing all the time . Some times Indian PS store will offer better deals , sometimes US PS store .

Especially during the black friday sales where mostly US PS store had much better deals and sales on more games .

But I have been away from PS store since 2019 so can't say if things have changed since then . Earlier US PS store definitely offered better deals especially around the time of sales .

US PSN cards markup on sites like prepaidgamercard or even Amazon does make things more expensive hence mostly no one buys those .

But there are other sources from where you can get US PSN top up cards much cheaper . Around 30% cheaper than the actual conversion rate .

That would change things significantly making US PS store the better . Lots of users (including myself) from IVG have purchased from a source here before and never faced any problems .

It has become better but due to the overall inflation & rupee rate falling in comparison to foreign currency by the year since mid 2000’s

It hasn’t really helped us much

what was 60 dollar in mid 2000’s is/was still 60 for them but for us it had become 4k from nearly 2k

Now with a marginal increase of $70 MRP things are 5k for us..so even subsidised regional pricing isn’t helping much

At least we should be thankful for not having outrageous medical and college bills.

Witcher 3 GOTY at 599. Is it worth to buy this digital? I mean how is the replay value. How is the Witcher 3 world?

Yes, no replay value as such( fanbois will tell you otherwise ).

But then the main story campaign of the base game, plus some side quests are one of the best in gaming, and so are the two DLCs and their campaigns, you have to experience this game + DLCs, so just buy it.

A single playthrough may go from 80-100 hours including DLC iirc.

The combat and camera movement is sloppy tho its not so bad as to not play the game but if you have played other games like assassins creed origins or odyssey (I did) then you might find it intolerable I took the same 599/- deal and personally it was an overall good experience I would still give this games combat movement and everything a rating of 6 and the story gets a 9.5, the world was impressive but the undiscovered locations like monster nests and bandit camps were a disappointment as compared to HZD (rating 10) or AC odyssey (rating 9.5), overall still pretty good, I'd say an 7.5 and 600/- is a good deal if u r sure u want to keep it or play at all after u r done, if not buy a used copy and sell it off after u r through with the game (u spend a total of abt 100/- on account of shipping charges), tho make sure to take the GOTY the DLC's r long and very good............ Not to mention the quality of gameplay is considerably better in the Blood and Wine DLC owing to its later release.

All the ratings r my personal opinion.

You are looking at a solid 14-18hrs in terms of replay value when you're just altering the decisions to see other endings. There are 3 main and 5 sub-main outcomes at the very end based on the decisions you took in the whole game. Furthermore there are several mini plot-endings which the game shows you once you finished that plot/quest line. The 2 DLCs also follow such similar endings

The world of Witcher is immense. 5 distinct regions characterised by their own environment, lore, quests and music. The quests in Witcher 3(and both dlcs) still remain unparalleled in location, story, narration, characters and dialogue choices to this day.

₹599 will give you a solid 80hrs game length if you're exploring almost everything. Cdpr already announced a SeriesX/PS5 edition free of cost so you're covered there as well even if you go digital
