VelivolusDas
thatgamecompany No Longer Sony Exclusive, Working on Multiplatform Game Indie developer thatgamecompany has become known for creating unique art game experiences that are therapeutic, emotional, and powerful. As a matter of fact, those three words could best be used to describe Journey, the incredible title most recently released on the PlayStation Network by thatgamecompany. Previously, the studio had a deal to release content exclusive to Sony platforms. Thatgamecompany honored that deal and delivered some of the finest indie titles on the PlayStation 3. Now, though, that exclusivity deal has ended, and the developer is looking forward to moving on and releasing content for multiple platforms. Thatgamecompany managed to raise a whopping $5.5 million from Benchmark Capital. League of Legends creator Riot Games was the last company to get funding from Benchmark, and those folks have done pretty well for themselves. Now that thatgamecompany has a hefty amount of dough, it looks to broaden its potential by releasing multiplatform titles. “We got so many emails from fans saying they wished they could play our games on other platforms,” said thatgamecompany founder Jenova Chen in a statement to GamesBeat. “We make games for human beings, not just gamers. Young, old, men, women, and from all countries. We want to change the concept of what a game is and show society what a game can be.” Chen had previously praised the PlayStation 3, saying that it had an audience with more mature and art-driven tastes. It’s good to see that those statements don’t necessarily mean thatgamecompany won’t make games for other systems. Now that the developer’s deal with Sony has ended, more people will get to experience its incredibly unique and refreshing titles. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, thatgamecompany is totally working on a new title, and it will be multiplatform. What could these fine folks be working on now? All the best to the entire team.... Flower & Journey were two great experiences.... I'm sure their next game will be awesome too.....

Right
But Kelly has already moved to different company, right? I think these guys should have renewed their ties with Sony, nothing better than running an indie with full publisher support.
