Umm, better graphics, better framerates. Plus the 360 is pretty much on it's deathbed, I haven't turned it on for ages. I don't even know if it works anymore.

I did. I meant other than you

Ice cold.

GAF impressions are super positive. It got me excited enough to queue up the demo. In a lot of ways it sounds like a SP version of DayZ which is something I have always wanted.

“We are still working on the PC version, and I don’t have a really good estimate for completion. Too much depends on third parties. It isn’t going to be soon by any meaningful use of the word ‘soon’.”

BTW all this talk has got me interested. I haven't explored that area where I could get guns. Will play more tonight and see what the fuss really is.

State of Decay is a scrappy, somewhat coarse game on its surface level. Its systems are poorly explained, its textures lacking in detail, its gunplay entirely functional. But its systems have a clockwork-like beauty, interlocking with rare grace to create a vivid, meaningful world in which player-driven stories arise with delightful frequency. Its dialogue is passable, its pre-scripted missions workmanlike and its interface fussy. But look past the ragged façade and you'll discover one of the finest open world games yet made, an experience that trades cinematic sheen for a different sort of impact, one that leaves you grieving over unscripted deaths and celebrating the little victories. State of Decay is unrefined but never anything less than interesting. And in video games, interesting has never been at such a premium.

This is what is preventing me to continue. Still will try more due to the praise it is receiving.

Played the demo a bit. Its seems fairly unpolished (frame rate drops, pop in etc) but its still VERY fascinating.

And it also feels like a PC game if you know what I mean. Tons of menu's, text all over the place, even the jankiness makes it feel like one of those unpolished gems from Eastern Europe (think Stalker). And its more or less what you would hope a SP DayZ would be all about. Except, not quite that hardcore. So its like a slightly more accessible version of DayZ.

I am definitely buying it. But I am holding off for the PC release. Its gonna need some patches and if there is a mod community for it, it could take off to another level. If the PC version is too far I might just bite the bullet on the 360 version.

State of Decay tops 500K sales, is fastest-selling original XBLA game

Microsoft has announced that State of Decay holds the somewhat mysterious title of “fastest selling original game ever on Xbox Live Arcade”

A PC release of State of Decay is on the way, and Undead labs is also expected to produce an MMO of some kind.
