Is My PS3 dying ?

I have started facing this issue as well now. My Phat PS3 randomly shuts off, gives 3 beeps and then there is a flashing red light. :(

Facing similar issue here. Eventually it will die :(

I now start it by going through safe mode and it takes several attempts to do so. Stupid Sony isn't willing to announce PS4 details.

Ya, it beeps twice every time when I start it. Then it goes to safe mode and then starts up. Hopefully it works for atleast 4-5 months more :fear:.

Will tell my grandmom to do some puja for the PS3. :scratchchin:

It was doing the same for me, specially if I played COD. I did the following and it hasn't shut down ever since:

1) Keep your ps3 in a completely open area and Do the fan test once on it (check YOUTUBE video on how to do faintest on ps3 fat. You would immediately notice that now your fan works much much better than what it used to be earlier.

2) Whenever you play, make sure your ps3 has ample space behind it, on its right and in front. The more space you give the lesser the chance of it heating up

3) If you have a vacuum cleaner, clean the ps3 every week (without opening it obviously). Again google how to do that before doing it.

I have done the above 3, and my ps3 has never shut off with red lights blinking ever since. Obviously I stopped playing COD as well, but I play BF4 a lot.

Obviously, doing the above does not guarantee that your ps3 won't go bad, however it's atleast giving it a chance to work for as long as possible.

Thanks Angy. Did the fan test and it seemed to be working fine. Also used a laptop vaccuum cleaner to clean the outside. Also I put my PS3 in a very open space.

You are great :majesty:
