pArth
Yeah. They should have showed him injecting venom and becoming huge. That would have been awesome. Nolan portrays Bane all muscular and all but no venom?
phreak
Thought about it last night. Regarding BAT-ALL HE HAS TO DO IS DROP THE BOMB, FLY AWAY BEFORE IT EXPLODES, AND NEVER COME BACK TO GOTHAM. The auto pilot thing could just be a red herring (you remember) a clue left for Lucius by Bruce to let Lucius know Bruce is still alive. Of course, since "Batman" is supposedly dead,it explains why the only people at Bruce Wayne's funeral are the only people (minus Selina)who knew Bruce was Bats. It also implies that Bruce is willing to let these people falsely grieve for a while--like Alfred crying--before he lets them know he's alive. Kind of a dick move, but I guess Bruce earned the right to do it to make sure he was now free.
phreak
Possibitlity: When we were watching the shot of the explosion, the camera is moving forward in the ocean, as if it's flying. And then the view from Batman's point of view in the extra Bat. So he watched it explode. Geddit?

phreak
Why did Talia's mother entered the pit? I didn't get that part. Talia's mother goes into the pit in place of Ras, sort of as an act of sacrifice for him. Talia was born there. She escaped and found her dad. The league then rescued bane. Her mother was sentenced for her father's crime, and so Talia was born there. We do see her mother and her getting killed. Talia had no fear and she didn't have a rope like the people who failed. Bruce didn't have a rope either. He made it due to not fearing death.

phreak
Regarding all the gaps in logic and supposed plot holes... well here's the problem, with Nolan's movies we're used to attention to detail (just look at The Prestige). But TDKR skims over a lot of stuff and just assumes the audience will go along with it (most of those points are mentioned in this thread). It's more or less acceptable in most big movies but in a Nolan movie these things stick out. I just assumed that Batman was able to beat Bane because he managed to compromise his mask. Doing that caused Bane excruciating pain, he could no longer focus on fighting. You know Batman fights dirty when he has to. Many of us are confusing artistic liberties with what really defines as a PLOT HOLE. Saying something that doesn't seem plausible in ones point of view isn't a plot hole. A real plot hole would be like- how Bruce was able to return BACK to Gotham?

phreak
1) How Bane delivers Bruce to the jail. Plane? Helicopter? It doesn't really matter since we assume that Bane has the resources to do so. 2) How Bruce gets back to Gotham, true, But does the viewer really need information that detailed? (As one member asked above for "confirmation" (Dude, this is a Nolan-esque film. Not useless bollywood movies, where one gives the meaning of a joke after cracking it.) Also we assume, He's BRUCE WAYNE, for Pete's sake--he traveled the world in BB with no wallet/ID. I'm sure he could sneak back in--He's the Batman. Eh? 3) Actually a bigger plot hole is how Bruce would NOT be able to get back into Gotham. Sure, the bridges are blown up. But does Bane have people at EVERY point along Gotham's perimeter? I doubt it.

Tyler
Well that's probably because he added a lot of comic-lore things to the movie. If you look @ BB and TDK; the nod to comics is fairly less as compared to this one. Also;about Bat beating Bane only when the mask was off; the mask was actually a replacement for Venom from comics Even in comics Bane is pretty much unbeatable when he injects himself with Venom. Well BB and TDK both had enough nods to comic book lore. BB was pretty much a modern version of Batman: Year One with minor elements from other stories. TDK was elements of The Long Halloween mixed with the theme behind The Killing Joke. Many of us are confusing artistic liberties with what really defines as a PLOT HOLE. Saying something that doesn't seem plausible in ones point of view isn't a plot hole. A real plot hole would be like- how Bruce was able to return BACK to Gotham? Yes I mentioned that. The prison was not explained. Who runs it? Where is it? How was Bruce able to get back without any resources? The only explanation to that was "He's the goddamn Batman!". I didn't say there were a lot of "plot holes" just "supposed plot holes". The parts where you're supposed to fill in the gaps.
