dharmin
A cousin of mine applied for a US tourist visa at Mumbai along with his family. His parents and sister got the visa but his visa was rejected 3 times. The reason they provided was since he is single he might be looking to settle there so anyways i was wondering would it make a difference if he applies for a visa from a different city say Chennai? never knew getting a US tourist visa was difficult
Big Boss
He has to give a genuine reason for them to accept. Chennai consulate is even worse, 10 of my friends applied for H1 Visa, 8 of them went to Mumbai and their's were approved, other 2 who went to Chennai got their's rejected. But remember that was for H1. I have no idea how they are saying that a single guy on a tourist Visa can settle in US

Unrealistic
A cousin of mine applied for a US tourist visa at Mumbai along with his family. A few suggestions: 1. If the person is well travelled and has multiple passports with visa's and immigration stamps, it's a whole lot easier to get ANY Visa, irrespective of your annual income (which needn't be 15L + as most people opt for), religion or marital status. 2. Income statement, letter from your company/employer/sponsor. If they see you're making a good amount of cash at your job, and you're spending your cash (I.e. a new car, or a mortgage on an apartment), they'll know you have priorities here or that you're just way too happy out here and migrating to the US of A is definitely not on your mind. I've never had issues 'cause I'm very well travelled. But I did suggest that my friends (GF included) try the second approach. They won't ask you for your documents and/or about your life here. Make sure you put it out there, very casually. Hold a conversation with them and discuss your itinerary with them. They need to know you're thought this through and you've got an agenda. You know what had been even more difficult then this, he has travelled just once and that too to a Middle east country, well that is the end of it then

You know what had been even more difficult then this, he has travelled just once and that too to a Middle east country, well that is the end of it then all this while i thought getting a visa to the US was not that difficult cos so many of my friends are pursuing their Masters there and everyone gets a visa easily.. i now think that there is a big difference between a student and a tourist visa
playstationdude
Because of all the kabootarbazi people who genuinely need a visa don't get it. Sucks!
