spindoctor Posted August 1, 2012 Report Share Posted August 1, 2012 I hope it's F2P like all other MMO games you have to buy the base game but there won't be any subscription fees. for what it's worth, i'm very interested in this game. dayz is exploding in popularity but i have felt a very significant decline in the actual game between the early days of the mod and how it is presently. it used to be a co-op survival experience whereas now it has devolved into a deathmatch. and there are some gaps in the dayz design, especially regarding goals, endgame and promoting player co-operation which this one seems to address based off of interviews they've done. the biggest problem is that this is coming from a completely new studio with no releases that i know of, no past track record and no publisher. they're financed by a venture capital firm that also has little experience in this field and i don't know how it will turn out. WhiteWolf Posted December 20, 2012 Author Report Share Posted December 20, 2012 The War Z" removed from Steam listings In the latest debacle that many are calling a giant Steam scam, Valve has today removed Hammerpoint Interactive's The War Z, a game intended to be a mirror title of DayZ, a mod for ARMA 2, from its Steam listings. War Z was released yesterday on Steam, and the publisher, made up of industry vets from games like Call of Duty and League of Legends, calls the title "the world's first survival MMO zombie game." Unfortunately for players who purchased the $15 game, each map can only support up to about 50 players, which is a far cry from MMO status.
