Heaven Angel Posted August 5, 2012 Report Share Posted August 5, 2012 My PS3 Slim HDMI Cable outer casting get REALLY HOT .. it almost burned my finger when i touched it .. it's after 30 to 45 minutes playing .. The port being very close to the ventilation of the ps3 the hot air from the ps3's ventilation might be heating up the HDMI's outer casting. Yea man i know but if the other shell is so hot then what about the inner plug .. it must have getting hot as well .. so will it damage my PS3 HDMI Port ... Those are very very rare cases. YLOD's are more common lol! Next time it heats up just remove the cable and check whether the male connector is also heating up. I don't think there is anything wrong with the cable as it would leave to a no signal. Just to be sure change the cable and see whether it is heating up. Stainless Steel explains a lot! No, it won't damage your PS3. If you are so worried, then just get a cable with a plastic or rubber outershell for the connector.
