^ You can switch on the PC instantly if you feel like.

The set-in period will carry on without hampering your work apart from anomalous temperatures.

Just received Arctic Silver 5... now how to apply it? Checked the internet.. some say pea sized amount in the center.. some say vertical line in the center and others say spread manually all over... H E L P :samui:

To drive home Alpha's point, the heatsink should have the paste spread evenly and think, like so :

Round_TIM_Center_Drop_Spread.jpg

The paste will be covered more evenly actually. You can spread it around manually as well. Just don't spill it over the edges, keep a small margin so that spillage is avoided.

The paste will anyhow spread once you push the heatsink onto the CPU. And, if not satisfied, clean it off and start over again.

Lulz : I remember doing it so perfectly onto the CPU directly, and then placed the heatsink with plastic tape still stuck to the copper base. Big deal, just touched it up again, removed the tape and good to go. Temps stay within 65 degrees, on i5 2500k

Also, after how much time of switching OFF my PC should I apply the paste?

It will be faster and easier to do it as soon as possible after switching off your PC.

Just be careful with handling the heat-sink as it may still be warm to touch.

I went for a raw positive setup.

Two intake fans (120mm) on the side.

Two intake fans (120mm) on the bottom.

One exhaust fan (80mm) on the upper rear.

One exhaust fan (120mm) on the lower rear

Two exhaust fans (120mm) on the top.

Damn good results with manageable dust issues.

Noise levels are on the higher side though :|

^Which fans?

BTW this is my case:

Elite371_550_2.jpg

I have the rear exhaust fan, two intake 140mm fans at side and one front 140 mm fan exactly as shown in the pic.

Now I am going for two exhausts at top and one intake at bottom. Good idea? Is that bottom one really required? What air will it pull from ground?

Wire management is like this, add a few more small wires of side fans:

What temperatures are you getting Sir? Screenshots would be appreciated.

Also, you might want to route major cables (like the 24-pin and CPU 4+4-pin from the rear).

What rear? There is no space to do that.

AMD 1055T's max operating temperature is 62 C. I have kept my motherboard to give warning beeps at 60 C and shutdown at 62 C. So it is giving me beeps that means CPU is at 62 C. I will play Crysis 3 and post the screenshots. GPU Temps are never a problem though, it runs quite cool. The cooling system given with GPU is quite good. CPU is the major PITA.

So here are the temperatures after playing Crysis 3:

Notice the core temps. It gave me a beep after it reached 60 C. I have no idea what that TMPIN1 and 2 is, but 70 C doesnt look good.

And all this after I opened one part of my cabinet, else it reaches 60 C in not time.

Even I don't know what that TMPIN corresponds to. Can be independent internal sensors on the motherboard for monitoring of temperature.

Does not look good, beep basically means the software is issuing a warning to you at a pre-defined temperature limit.

Never keep the cabinet open, it screws up the airflow.

It is mostly because of winters, the room fan is off. Will see if installing new fans fixes it.

Which fans are you planning to put, brand, type and size?

Also, do you still need Brütal Legend?

Ordered these 3: http://www.flipkart.com/cooler-master-sickleflow-green-120-mm/p/itmdmkmy7axgn5wg?pid=COLDMKMY5NVEFVAT

And I already have Brutal Legend. Why do you ask? Got it part of Indie bundle I guess.

Those are pretty spiffy, yes.

I was asking you about the game because you were surprised about its cheap pricing and I thought you wanted to copy. Cheerio!

Yeah, those are practically noiseless and have good airflow. I wanted blue ones but those were not with WS Retail. Dont trust other sellers on FK. Still I will go with green for exhaust and blue for intake.
