+ Memory Remixes play like Inception meets Ghost Trick
+ Explores hot-button issues like surveillance and social media
+ A visionary world you want to explore...
- ... but you'll rarely get the chance to
- Combat frustrates, even on easy - not surprised here.

7/10

OPM UK - 7/10

Even OPM gave only 7 lol!

Visionary ideas unfortunately fall to a formatted medium. The world is ambitious and brilliantly realised, but the fighting and platforming can’t keep up.

Metro review: http://metro.co.uk/2013/06/03/remember-me-game-review-short-term-memory-3825830/

5/10

Pros: Gorgeous art design and music creates a pleasingly exotic atmosphere. Sympathetic lead character and the core ideas behind the story, memory remixes, and combat are sound.

Cons: The combat is repetitive and the enemies bland, the platforming is simplistic, and the memory remixes too few in number and too reliant on trial and error. Languid pacing.

Big ideas abound in Remember Me, creating an intriguing, beautiful world but the game itself is very forgettable.

Read on GAF, IGN edited their review. Conclusion was something like this - "Cult classic one day but forgettable today". But seeing that it doesn't make any sense they removed it. What a crap site.

Okay since embargo is lifted, here is something:

+Game looks absolutely fantsatic on 360. World looks great, art style is mindblowing.

+Very cool memory remix sequences, but can be very obvious, still fun thing.

+Character voiced and animated very well

+Combat has some nice option and ideas

-Platforming is really lame. Think of it as Uncharted level easy, with added hints of where to go. It is kid's stuff really

-Combat moves look terrible, nothing smooth or attractive about it. Never expected this from Capcom game.

-Extremely repititive combat, camera sucks during fights, especially boss battles

-Controls are stiff. Character feels very heavy, even during platforming and combat, again never expected this from Capcom game

-The world interaction is very limited, even platforming is limited

Overall, game would have been so much better but surprisingly devs missed the obvious opportunities. I was thinking this will be next Oni. Every time I kept thinking this could have been EPIC, but not. This situation would have been surreal, but its not. Not sure how it plays on PC, maybe better fps will smooth out the heaviness of character and controls.

it will have poor sales cause of the obvious flaws after reading all the reviews and CRAPCOM will blame the failure of the game due to having a female protagonist  !! i really wanted this game to surprise me, new IPs are rare :( hopefully Watch Dogs wont disappoint.

Gamespot: 7/10

The Good

Great protagonist that makes it easy to get invested in her destiny Manipulating memories is a stimulating process Attractive near-future world Fun, fluid combat.

The Bad

Constricted level design keeps the world from coming to life Story rarely makes good on the cool premise Camera frequently gets in the way.

Videogamer: 4/10

Remember Me is nothing more than an entirely forgettable tour de farce of archaic game design. Its horrific dialogue, sickening camera and regressive combat are major blips in a title that poses one major question: was this game worth releasing? ‘Dontnod’ is arguably the right answer.

Campaign completed in 9 hours

+Lovely visuals in places
-Bland, unrewarding combat
-Cringe-worthy dialogue

Overall scores:

Gamespot - 7/10
ING - 5.9/10
Destructoid - 6/10
Polygon - 8/10
Metro - 5/10
The Escapist - 3/5
CVG - 7/10
Games Radar - 3.5/5
VideoGamer - 4/10
NextGen Gaming Blog - 8/10
PlayStation Magazine - 7/10

Metacritic:

XBOX 360: 68/100

PlayStation 3: 73/100

PC: 70/100

From EG review:

It can be satisfying, but after a while it's more of a rhythm game than a spectacle. Your eyes are constantly hovering over the combo area at the bottom of the screen to make sure your blows are connecting, rather than searching animations for visual feedback, and individual moves lack distinction, so most combos feel repetitive. You'll need to have a steady hand on the camera to avoid losing sight of things, too.

This is exactly my problem. You rarely get any animation feedback to check if you have hit successfully, as the camera is all over the place and the combos are lame. The focus on combo meter below is way too much to have any fun from the game. Had PG made fighting engine of this game, it would have been perfect.

Damn the combat failed just like i feared from the videos :(. Was hoping it was just the vids and thecombat it self would be fun when you play.

wish capcom put the dmc team to do the combat, game was very ambitious indeed.

Hope they come up sequel with open world, better story and consider everything they're lacking
