22 inch enough for splitscreen?

So I'm getting a ps3 very soon (might be this diwali), which I plan to connect via HDMI to my dell 22 inch monitor and creative a335

since bsnl service here is spotty at best, split screen will be a main focus.

So, will splitscreen be enjoyable on my monitor from a distance of 2-3 feet? Or should I get a larger one?

Thanks in advance

P.s.- I'll only be doing 2 player split, no 4 player.

Depends solely on game. I find games which are enjoyed in short stints are easily enjoyable over splitscreen. Or if you share passion for same game or genre, then you can have fun for a while. But, for longer runs, you need that full 22inch for yourself. Although, look for games with single player focus and co-op tacked on, instead of opposite; e.g. COD over Army of Two for co-op fun.

It depends on how far you guys sit.

Back when I got my 360 I had it hooked up to a 19" monitor for a while. Cousin and I used to play a sh*t ton of Halo 3 and Gears on it split screen. We had to sit pretty close to the screen but aside from that it was alright. Bigger is of course always better when it comes to splitscreen. But the great thing about playing video games is, get two people in the same room who like a game and stuff like screen size ceases to matter. ;)

I would suggest go for big. I managed with 19'' HD display with AV cable for entire UC2 single and MP. But after UC3 released I bought 32'' HD TV and connected with HDMI cable. After that I realised how much I missed. BIG is always better.....

Well distance doesn't really matter in my case... Me and my sister used to play snes games split on a 19" tv... So I think 22" will do for me.

By the way, all the 32 inches I can fit within my budget is ~20ms in response time. Will it even be able to handle any of the consoles without excessive lag and ghosting?
