I watched till he grew up. Not sure what arc that is.

Village of the Craftsmen arc. Thats the final arc of Naruto.

Then Shippuden starts with time skip, when Naruto has grown up, the first arc being the Kazekage rescue arc.

Idk I've never had any interest in Naruto. Art, characters, concept, nothing really appealed to me. And the fillers and no of episodes just make sure of the fact  I'm never going to pick it up.

If you never watched it before, its a tough one to break into now.

I watched Naruto as a kid on TV.Couple years back when I started watching anime, I rewatched Naruto, and then the entirety of Shippuden.

I've watched sections/arcs/episodes multiple times now.

It has an insane amount of fillers (most of which can be skipped) and not everything in this show is S-Tier.

But it has some of the most epic anime moments and fights.

The show is no doubt bloated and has aged considerably in terms of the faster-paced shows these days like Attack on Titan or Jujustu Kaisen.

The thing with Naruto is, there are only a few arcs/fights which are actually memorable. But the episode count of both combined is almost 1000 and the fillers are absolute trash which last for entire seasons. There are dedicated sites that list which episodes/seasons are filler and which are canon. You have to refer to those first before going on to watch Naruto. And even in canon, only some arcs are good. These being -

Spoiler

1) Zabuza/Haku Arc

2) Chunin Exam and Forest Arc

3) Pain Arc

4) Hidan Fight (especially the end)

5) Madara Fight in War Arc (Both Madara owning everyone and the fight at the end with Naruto/Sasuke/Guy)

But after this the Kaguya Arc is utter flop

These 5 are all that's memorable out of an almost 1000 episodes. They are also all very far apart. So for a new watcher, there is far too much trash to sift through to get to the meat of the show. There are also other shows that are equally as good or better now (Jujutsu Kaisen, Kimetsu No Yaiba, Fate, My Hero Academia etc.) that are much shorter and far more accessible. In a way, that's why I think they are releasing 12-26 episode animes now and moving from there (depending on popularity), rather than committing to unlimited episodes as they did in the 90s/early 2000s.

Yeah one has to skip fillers and have a bit of patience with the pacing of the show.

Like I said, Naruto is definitely dated but has some of the best moments I've seen.

I've said this before, but I didn't like MHA one bit. I find the combat, the villains, the plot, the characters, the power system to be very lacklustre and un-original. Perhaps its just not for me, since it is a very popular show.

Jujutsu Kaisen best new shounen. Fate Zero and UBW is fantastic, and I haven't seen Demon Slayer yet, but I'll get to it once the hype dies down a little.

My man, if you're watching Jujutsu Kaisen, don't skip Demon Slayer/Kimetsu no Yaiba at all. It's literally equal to or even better than Jujutsu. That anime is not over-hyped at all. The anime is right there on Netflix and the movie is up on almost all *ahem sites*. Not to mention, it's animated by UFOTable, who also made Fate/Zero and Fate/Unlimited Blade Works, so it's breath-takingly beautiful. Get to it ASAP

I've heard great things about the animation, its Ufotable and they do this sh*t right.

I've seen THAT scene as well, but I'm just busy with other sh*t right now. I'll get to it next weekend hopefully

I doubt it'll be as good as JJK though, I've only heard praise for animation and not for the plot/story. But will update here once I watch it.

@North Why'd you change your name lol. I was confused for a sec.

I was wondering if y'all would be confused. I use North for discord and gamertag and other places on the internet, didn't want my name to be there in the username.

So decided to change. feel free to use either name though.

Nah it is that good, both story and action wise as well. Heck, having watched both, fights in Demon Slayer are even better than JJK lol. In some areas, it will legit feel horror as well (Though it's shonen). There's a reason Mugen Train is the highest grossing anime movie and almost the entire anime community is waiting for Demon Slayer Season 2 lol.

Also, your username change really confused me.

I love Demon Slayer but it's brought down by having the worst side character in any Anime ever to exist, Zenitsu.

You're going to start loving Zenitsu once Season 2 comes around. His more *questionable* aspects are gone and he is given an awesome story and skill-set.
