TNB
I am looking to recording some TV Caps and PS3 and then transfer it to my PC and convert them if required. I bought an Avermedia TV Tuner a while back when I bought a new pc but it didn't work on my pc for some strange reason and it works on my brother's old pc. I am looking to record HD footage from Airtel DTH so the recorder should be HD compatible. Any Suggestions? I can provide my PC details if required to see compatability. Also I am looking for HDMI splitters , I found one in Nehru place , New Delhi for 600 bucks but he didn't give me any warranty and it didn't work so returned it and chucked the option. Are there any good options for this?

Sa1nT_SoLd1eR
Stand Alone HD recorder will be more costly, if you have a DECENT (see minimum requirements) Desktop PC close to your PS3, STB etc, then i would suggest going for a capture card rather than a stand alone PVR. Avermedia HD capture card is the most VFM option in your case, Hauppage gives a very very slight video advantage over Avermedia, but the price difference is enoromous between the both. http://www.avermedia.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?IID=

They would be able to render recording but the thing is I bought a TV tuner card a while back with the pc only and it didn't work. The tv tuner didn't recognize on my pc but worked on my cousins which is a pretty old pc. i ll check this though edit : the only specification that i don't have is a sound card. Will that be a major issue for non working of tv tuner?
Sa1nT_SoLd1eR
Nope !! although you should have an onboard sound i.e your PC should be able to put out sound, otherwise you may have problems recording the sound!!! a standalone Soundcard is not a requirement. I used this card (link below) with a very basic Gigabyte motherboard, and it worked flawlessly even on that, so I don't see a reason why it should not work for you !!! Do check out a few reviews for various cards to zero in on which one to buy !! Here is a link to the card I bought from itdepot and used for a few days, but replaced it with a hauppage colossus (cousin got it from abroad) , the difference in video quality was very marginal http://www.avermedia.com/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?Id=530&tab=APDriver
