Monokuma Posted August 23, 2012 Report Share Posted August 23, 2012 Hi Guys, There are supported resolutions displayed on ps3 game covers like PAL/720p/1080p etc. My concern is, if a game supports only max 720p resolution and I have a 1080p Monitor for the display, will the games look bad? I saw in some forums where they said that if the display is native 1080p and does not have an option for 720p then the ps3 automatically downscale's it to 480p, is that true? i have also seen posts where they said 720p games looks bad on 1080p display. Big Boss Posted August 23, 2012 Report Share Posted August 23, 2012 Btw I have hardly seen any game just 720p There are many games on PS3 which run only on 720p, and if 720p is unchecked on resolution in PS3 display settings, PS3 runs the game on 576p and it looks like sh*t. Only those who support 1080p run on that resolution. You need to check the PS3 box of that game to see resolutions supported. The games I know which run on 1080p are AC Brotherhood, God of War 3 (1080i) and few others. But for them I have to uncheck 720p and keep 1080p enabled, else the game always runs on 720p by itself. The games I played that run on 1080p automatically even when both 720p and 1080p are checked are GT 5 and Wipeout. Xbox360 on the other hand, upscales each and every game to 1080p if that resolution is selected on Xbox display menu. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
