I saw that the base game is actually very small, only 7 to 8 story missions, but the side missions is the core and that what it makes this game massive.

And other stuffs like collecting crafting materials from various areas and tactical gameplay is great fun ..

Dragons are so awesome looking creatures, really hate to kill them.

ok after playing Dark souls 2 for the last few months...i started playing this game in the same way.....i was like "damn it ..why cant i dive roll" !! and on hard difficulty i was using up all my potions and running back to camp every now and then in the first few hours! I kept controlling my main character only...silly me!! Then i recalled DA : Origins and completely forgot that overhead tactical cam was back in this game(i ignored the initial tutorial)!!

Now no fight is too hard and using it for every fight....i guess Bioware have redeemed themselves with this game atleast in my eyes!! So exhilarating to position your comrades and watch them destroy all enemies, Enjoying this!!

went near the dragon in Hinterlands...some smaller drakelings are lvl 12...whereas my party is lvl 7..had to stay away!!

Left Hinterlands and travelled to the marshes area to save some soldiers ...but even there all enemies/zombies are lvl 12...so do i complete all the side quests in hinterlands before progressing to other areas in Fereldan?

Leave that area. Do side quests in Hinterlands. There will be tons of them. Don't fight the dragon till you are atleast level 10-12.

Also, remember the best weapons and armors in the game are always the crafted ones. Since you have just started, at this moment the best schematics can be bought from a merchant in Val Royeaux. There is also one merchant in Redcliff village but for that you have to play few story missions.

BTW, killed the dragon "Fereldan Frostback", level 10 hard :D Time to get tier 3 Dagger schematics.

Yes, leave the area for now, but don't leave the map as hinterlands only has the low levels enemies.. try going south-east there are tons of side quests awaiting for you.

you can easily get to level 9 on hinterlands only.

Which class you're using btw?

You on skyhold? what you took for your Dual-Dagger Rouge? Tempest-Assassin-Alchemist

I've for Assassin is much better and hard damaging character than the rest now. Some great abilities hidden over there which can kill an enemy single hand. Great fun.

Warrior class-weapon & shield expert with few points in Vanguard ability.

Tempest. Assassin build is better in terms of pure damage output (Mark of Death). But Tempest build is more fun to play imo. Flask of fire, lightning and thousand cuts are some of the coolest active skills in the game.

I always have cole in my party as Assassin Archer, so that I can use Mark of death.

Better as you going on tank for your party members, But there are certain fights like few minor/major bosses or rift encounters that they can thrash the crap out of you and you probably gonna loose all of your guard in a second depends on difficulty you playing on. As you going to get all the attention from the enemies, lol .. (If you use your character most of the time) Get Champion class if you like to be vanguard and take the most of the damage for your party.

Not trying to scare you or anything but make sure your party members have the best attack as you not going to do much damage unless you're a two-handed weapon specialist a Reaver class which dies pretty soon than a Champion still gives a bash to your enemies.

Yep same on hard, Myself a Tempest and Cole for Assassin specialty, and i preferably use Cole for the maximum attack damage for certain bosses and rift demons.

But Dragons are a whole new level, they requires complete modification to the ones you use regularly.
