As the title says. My Xbox doesn't detect my games :( it says ''open tray'' even i put a disc in.

What do i do now? I have tried basic thing by searching on Google and Youtube but it didn't worked.

Should i give it to MS for repair? How much time do they take to repair ?

P.S. I have a Xbox 360 4GB Slim. It's 13months old.

Please help.

Yes mate.

Do you have any idea how much they gonna charge me ? And do I have to ship my Xbox to them or some kind of MS support will come and pick it up from my house? What is the number of Indian Xbox support? Sorry I asked you too many questions . :|

Get the console replaced, even if it started working fine. You never know when it might stop working again. Also, you can install games on 32gb pen drive, without any issues, but load times are higher compared to HDD.

Wait, you mean like you want to install the game in case dvd drive stops working again? If yes, then sorry, that won't work. You need system to detect the disc to start the game.

Go to support.xbox.com, select exchange request option. It will say warranty is over. Go ahead with paid exchange, enter credit card details, and create a request. Console will be replaced within a week, for a minimal charge of 0$ (yes, you read it right).

A credit card is necessary, so look for friend or dad's card. Or ask him to create a virtual credit card with a balance of 1$. Also, if you have not registered the console ever, chances are you will be able to claim warranty. I know, it is stupid, but MS considers register date as warranty start date. If that happens, then you won't need any credit card details either, as exchange will be free in that case (unlike the paid exchange which incidentally costs nothing).
