BigAnt Studios have revealed a little more info on the bowling controls:

These are the main controls for Pace Bowling.

Pre-Bowl
LB/RB button - change between over and around the wicket
X – Rub/Shine Ball
Pressing Y/B/A will determine a length of the Pitch,
Y being Full,
B being Short and
A being Good –
this is the range of length you are aiming for. Pressing this will start the bowling run up.
Bowling Phase
Right Analogue Stick DOWN (hold down) - this will make the bowler jump - - you will need to time this well, as it will affect where your bowler plants his front foot.
Too early and that bouncer you wanted to deliver with your 2m tall bowler isn't going to be as effective, too late and you've got yourself a no ball.
Also, the speed you do this will add extra effort to the delivery (albeit at the expense of some stamina)
RAS UP – This will deliver the ball, when you release it and what position you push to, will determine the ultimate line and length of the delivery inside your original Length Range.
Example:-
if you pressed B for short delivery and then you wait late before pressing RAS UP this will give you the shortest possible delivery with your bowler.
If you push directly up on the RAS your line will be just outside off stump, pushing up to the left or right of that position will affect the line accordingly.
Left Analogue Stick – Determines how you hold the ball and will affect how the ball moves in the air of off the deck. Depending on the condition of the ball will dictate what you might need to the both LAS and RAS to compensate for movement.
I realise that’s a bit to take in, but we are going to be layering these controls through the difficulties – so to start with you will be able to deliver fairly good deliveries with just the following.
Press A button to start run up. Pull back on RAS, Push Forward on RAS – that’s it. Get the timing right and you will deliver a ball at a Good length just outside off stump.
The easier levels will have more basic players, they'll have slower bowl speeds, less swing making them easier to control. But as the levels progress the batsman are better, and as your bowlers get better you need to have better control of swing and also your line and length.

I love the new bowling mechanics!! For the first time we would be spending more time in mastering the bowling than we do for batting (or maybe not if batting is as flexible :P)! Just imagine with these bowling mechanics + Dynamic weather + Ball wear and tear + Pitch Wear and Tear......bowling would never feel the same throughout the match!!!

An awesome scenario that comes to my mind:

"Cloudy morning....ball swinging around a lot...you try to compensate the line by aiming on or outside the leg stump and try to bowl outswingers....perfect deliveries!! Suddenly the sun comes out and the ball stops swinging around...the perfect balls that you were bowling earlier now become easy scoring deliveries on leg stump!! Now you need to change your line and length all over again and the muscle memory that you had developed goes for a toss.....time to score some runs off you now eh :P!!!!"

I think this game will have a yearly edition, so everyone take this a beta edition, in a few years this could be polished and perfected.

3 months left and still no trailer? gameplay? Just bunch of info, nothing else.

(doubt it'll come this October)

It is confirmed to release in October!! Ross has already confirmed that the marketing plan for this game (based on their market study) would be a one month affair. So basically you would get the release date, trailer followed by gameplay videos etc.....all in a month!! If September is the release date, you can expect goodies by august. Sadly the market for cricket is too niche to allow for bigger marketing campaigns as it is difficult to retain the level of excitement over a longer period of time (except for us hardcore fans i.e.)

What makes you think that??

BigAnt's previous record states that they rather release a dlc as a game update rather than going for a yearly edition!! They just released a dlc for their rugby game, and if you see the reviews, people are actually saying that the dlc makes the game seem like a new edition all together!

This is what Mike (Producer of BAC'14) had to say when I asked if we will be able to alter the length while the bowler running in, before the ball is bowled.

You've got all the way to the ras input to change your mind. But the later you do it the more it effects your delivery. To be honest some of that is just natural, we don't need to do anything game wise to effect it. The later you wait the more it just changes what you do to actually deliver the ball. It just works.

Also, he said that we will be able to pull out of bowling a delivery! Not only that, we also get warned for doing it too often!! The attention to detail is quite unbelievable.

ok now this game is sounding too good to be true.. & its better to have low expectations & be surprised than high expectations which always leads to disappointment...

Wont get my hopes too high, but if we type 'YEAH' in the latest version of CA, it redirects us to this URL:

http://www.cricket14.com/yeah.html

Looks like BigAnt are going to reveal something tonight!!

Maybe the name of the endorsed player + Release Date + Trailer :D!!!

Wont get my hopes too high though, as dont want to get disappointed in the end :P!! It just might be an official launch of their website (www.cricket14.com). But I would assume there would be no point revealing the website without the full name and release date, as all the other info is already available on BigAnt's website!!

Lets wait and watch!! It would be revealed at 9pm aussie time!

Alright guys....this post from Ross should clear it out:

Good idea to keep the feet on the ground. I think people will like it but it is not the release date, trailer, nor is it the name.

It's not screenshots either....
