BigAnt will release the game before october 2013. Ross has never ever gone back on his word. His record speaks for him. Dont worry about it....the game will release before end of september 2013.

Ok. Will wait for big ant game and will not buy ashes cricket. I wish Big Ant tell us the release date at least so we can decide.

Of course if you type "yeah" in the Cricket Academy Tour Designer you get to hear "Yeah!" as well :)

I have just set the video to play at 50% speed as it's easier to see what's going on.

Ross, would the lighting vary according to the location as well? e.g. In Kolkata it gets dark much quicker to, say, Delhi!! Also, in winters it gets dark much quicker than in summers. If not, then maybe in the next version !

Yes. We have based the weather and light on time of year, longitude and latitude.

Weather can be tampered with (adjusted) however location/light cannot.

We haven't done everything we wanted to do, we have a big list of stuff for the sequel, don't worry about that!

For example we are yet to do assignable animation to players, stadium creation/sharing, and lots more. There is still a lot of work to be done for the series.

Ross,

you mentioned that the sound is very important to you in this game!! Was just wondering....is there sound for weather effects as well?? I remember watching some matches in England (on tv ofcourse) and you can easily hear the strong winds blowing on the mic. Also you can hear the thunder during storms!! I know its not that important, but all these do contribute in the feeling of 'being there'.

Few qs answered by BigAnt:

I) Spin Bowling Controls:

Unlike pace bowling you choose your line as well as your length before the run up. LAS held up straight will be aiming at offstump, moving it left or right will change the line across the crease. Holding that and then Pressing Y, B, A will determine your length.
As the bowler runs up you rotated the LAS in the direction you want to spin the ball, There is an ideal rotation time to get the most out of your bowler, then the bowler will automatically go into his delivery and you must flick a direction on the RAS to determine the type of delivery, this will give quicker darted in bowls, floating, drifting, wind will play it’s part and working out the condition of the pitch and where you want that ball to land are crucial.
With the differences in bowling controls, it’ll take some practise to switch between the two, there are people in the office that are good and one and not so good at the other.

II) When asked about Pitch variability:

We think we've covered all pitch types, also, each end can have different characteristics, so it might be better to bowl a Spinner from a certain end for example

.

III) Distance meter for a Six:

Yes we will have a distance meter.

IV) About using the Crease while bowling & Speed of delivery:

Yes you can change where in the crease you want to deliver, so changing the angle to the batsman will be simple.
Speed of delivery is changed from the standard pace of your bowler by the speed you pull back on the RAS before delivery, pulling back slowly will take pace off the ball, just like in real life you can’t pinpoint the exact speed though and will take practise to get right.

V) When asked whether there would be any slow time effects when the ball is released:

While Playing as the batsman it’ll be real speed, you need to concentrate on the ball to get information about where it will pitch and what line it is on.

VI) When asked how long it took for them to get used to these bowling controls:

Hard to say how long - we did test beds, where we just had the bowler and wickets and tested out several options. so it went through a process of small changes and improvements. It's a system that you can pick up an be reasonable in a short amount of time against the easy teams, but there are layers that you need to add to make the grade higher up.
as with Pace, a beginner can use a spin bowler with just pressing A button and flicking the RAS at the right time. you won't spin the ball, but you'll bowl at off stump and depending on the pitch you might get some luck.

.......If any more qs are answered, will update here!!

sorry if its been asked but can we play the modern day shots (ramp, helicopter, scoop etc)?

There is a separate button for 'unorthodox' shots. I assume that would be for such shots like helicopter, scoop etc.!!
